摘要： PURPOSE:To shorten the shift time of a head when access is given to the information stored in a memory medium and to change the directory, etc. as necessary, by providing a cartridge containing a backed-up memory and a disk storage device and a drive which can give access to the memory of the cartridge and the disk memory medium. CONSTITUTION:When access is given to data having a high using frequency, a selection circuit 10 selects a serial memory 35 through a connector 15 which connects a cartridge 3 to a drive 2 via a control bus 23 and sends a signal for switching toward the memory 35 to a multiplexer 11. The data sent from a drive control circuit 1 undergoes synchronization with the circuit 1 by a timing circuit 14 through the multiplexer 11. Then the access is given only to the data necessary for the memory 35 through the connector 15. Thus the head shift time is shortened and quick access is possible.

摘要： PURPOSE:To use a disk driving device also as a tape driving device by inserting a tape into the disk driving device such as a floppy disk driving device, etc. CONSTITUTION:A capstan 86 leads out power from a disk driving device spindle motor through a belt 213 extended around a pulley which has been fixed to said capstan. A pinch roller 87 which runs idle is supported by an idler arm 88, and the idler arm 88 is supported axially by a pin 89, so that the pinch roller 87 is pressed against the capstan 86 by a spring 810. In this way, friction driving for supplying a tape is given, and the tape is wound around a twist guide 81. When the tape goes out of a section C by the twist guide 81, the tape is addressed to a surface nominally coplanar to a section A again. In case when an endless tape has been used, the tape is moved round only in one direction, and a reversing clutch is not required. In this way, a disk driving device can be used as a tape driving device, as well.
