    • PURPOSE: An apparatus for forming a polymer membrane free from free radical and having uniform quality by giving, in a high vacuum, energy necessary for the polymerization of a monomer gas which is ejected against the surface of an object to be treated and forms a polymer membrane thereon.
      CONSTITUTION: A reaction vessel 1 having a holder for securing an object 2 to be treated in its inside and being evacuated to a high vacuum is provided with a mechanism for giving thermal energy which is necessary at least for the polymerization reaction of a monomer gas which is ejected against the surface of the object 2 and forms a polymer membrane. Said mechanism for giving energy is composed of a cylindrical body having a small-diameter nozzle 14a in a position opposite to the body 2 and comprises a mechanism 14 for giving kinetic energy transformed from the static pressure of the monomer gas fed into the interior, a mechanism 15 for giving thermal energy and a mechanism 25 for increasing energy by electrical acceleration.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain high vacuum by forming a high-polymeric thin film closely onto the surface of a turbine blade through plasma polymerization method and preventing gas from intruding into between the blade and the film. CONSTITUTION:An air intake port 7 of an air cooling type turbo molecular pump 1 is connected to an object apparatus, and a motor 2 is driven, and then the gas in the apparatus is discharged through the pump 1. The surface of a turbine blade possesses the superior resistance to chemicals, since the surface is coated and protected by a plasma-polymerized polymethacrolein film 11. Since said film 11 is formed from in close adhesion the corresponding monomer in the vacuum environment, there is no possibility for gas to invade into between the film 11 and the blade 10. Therefore, the high vacuum or super high vacuum in the equal degree to that with the turbine blade onto which surface processing is not applied can be obtained.
