    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exchangeable spindle assembly for a machine tool. SOLUTION: The spindle assembly includes an assembly installing connecting part connectable to the machine tool, a tool spindle having a predetermined spindle diameter, and a spindle driving connecting part connectable to a driving mechanism of the machine tool. The driving connecting part is connected to the tool spindle, and thus, rotation of the driving connecting part brings about rotation of the tool spindle. The spindle assembly also includes at least one coolant dispersing manifold connectable to a coolant supply source existing in the machine tool via a coolant connecting part existing in the spindle assembly. The spindle assembly is constituted so that the assembly installing connecting part, the spindle driving connecting part and the coolant connecting part can be wholly connected to the machine tool in coexistence, when installing the spindle assembly in the machine tool.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tool and a tool holder which can change their attitude relative to a spindle, can achieve high machining accuracy of a workpiece, does not generate vibration and heat easily, has a long life, and can be manufactured at low cost. SOLUTION: The tool holder comprises a tool 100 for machining a workpiece, an electric motor 180 of which the output shaft is connected to the tool 100 to rotate the tool 100, a first holding part 65 for holding the tool 100 and the electric motor 180, a coupling part 62 to be coupled to a spindle 46, an electric generator 170 which is rotated by the torque from the spindle 46 via the coupling part 62 to generate electric power for driving the electric motor 180, a second holding part 85 which rotatably holds the coupling part 62 and holds the electric generator 170 and engages with a non-rotational part 47 of a machine tool, an attitude adjusting mechanism which couples the first holding part 65 to the second holding part 85 so that the attitude of the tool 100 relative to the spindle 46 can be changed, and an angular position adjusting mechanism for adjusting an angular position of the first holding part 65 about the axis of the spindle 46.
