    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric field write-type magnetic recording device which does not employ a coil in the write head, thereby achieving a dramatic reduction in power consumption, ultra-high-speed writing, ultra-high density recorded information or lower costs.SOLUTION: An electric field write-type magnetic recording device 1 comprises: a rotating disk 11 having a magnetic recording film containing at least one layer of a ferromagnetic ferroelectric substance layer formed on the surface of a base 111; a write element 121 which has a write electrode 1211 that generates electric flux with the base 111 by having an electric potential with respect to the base, and that writes information (regardless of the magnetic field) to the magnetic recording film 112 by means of an electric field; and a write circuit 13 which, for each information write operation, selects and imparts one of two electric potential levels to the write electrode. The write circuit 13 magnetizes a ferromagnetic ferroelectric substance layer in a specific direction by means of electric flux generated by an electric potential imparted to the write electrode 1211.
