    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for an engine, which can properly detect (calculate) a combustible component amount in intake gas induced by a combustible component in a crankcase, and can properly detect (calculate) a mixing degree of the combustible component into engine oil. SOLUTION: The engine oil 28 is injected in the crankcase 26 of a diesel engine 1. In a control for idle stabilization, an ECU 70 calculates the combustible component amount in the intake gas induced by the combustible component in the crankcase, based on difference between an actual injection amount and a reference injection amount for implementing a target revolving speed.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular control system that can increase reliability further even when safe running of a vehicle for repair is executed, by executing more suitable fail-safe processing after an anomaly determination about an electronic control unit. SOLUTION: The system is mounted on a vehicle having a control microcomputer 31 for electronically controlling operating modes of fuel injection valves and spark plugs in dependence on an operating state of an on-vehicle engine, and a monitoring microcomputer 32 for determining an anomaly occurring in the control microcomputer 31. When an anomaly occurs in the control microcomputer 31, a throttle valve is fixed at a given opening angle and the operating modes are controlled by the control microcomputer 31 to provide fail-safe vehicle running. The monitoring microcomputer 32 stops the operation of the engine forcibly if conditions are met, or for example, a fuel injection valve whose fuel injection is basically prohibited under a cylinder cutoff operation or the like injects fuel, and an engine speed exceeds a given speed.     • PURPOSE:To enhance the operating characteristics of an engine by furnishing a judging means to know if there is any abnormality in a suction air amount sensor and an aux. injection amount calculating means to calculate the aux. amount of fuel injection in the event of abnormality in the suction air amount sensor. CONSTITUTION:A judging means 16 judges any abnormality in a suction air amount sensor 11 on the basis of the amount of suction air and the degree of throttle opening. A reference injection amount calculating means 17 calculates the fundamental amount of fuel injection on the basis of the amount of suction air and the number of engine revolutions. An aux. injection amount calculating means 18 calculates the aux. amount of fuel injection on the basis of the degree of throttle opening and the number of engine revolutions when there is any abnormality in the suction air amount sensor 11. A final injection amount calculating means 19 calculates the final injection amount through correction of said fundamental injection amount or aux. injection amount in accordance with the operating condition of the engine. This arrangement will well enhance the accuracy in judging eventual failure in the suction air amount sensor as well as the operating characteristics of the engine.
