    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoplastic elastomer composition having high fatigue resistance and processability.SOLUTION: This thermoplastic elastomer composition has a continuous phase and a dispersed phase, the continuous phase containing an epoxy-modified polyamide resin (A), and the dispersed phase containing a halogenated isoolefin-para-alkylstyrene copolymer rubber (B). The thermoplastic elastomer composition is obtained by melt-kneading, at a temperature greater than or equal to the melting point of a polyamide resin (C), the following: the halogenated isoolefin-para-alkylstyrene copolymer rubber (B); a polyamide resin (C); and a polyfunctional epoxy compound (D) containing at least 0.05 pts.mass and less than 3 pts.mass, per 100 pts.mass of the polyamide resin (C), each molecule of which has at least two epoxy groups. The epoxy-modified polyamide resin (A) is generated by a reaction between the polyamide resin (C) and the polyfunctional epoxy compound (D) during the melt-kneading.

The production method contains a step to mix a polymer or a copolymer with at least one kind of water-soluble polymeric polyol, a step to dissolve the mixture in water to obtain a dispersion, a step to separate polymer particles or copolymer particles from the dispersion liquid, and a step to wash and dry the separated polymer particles or copolymer particles. The polymeric polyol is selected from polyethylene glycol and polyvinyl alcohol.
