    • PURPOSE:To provide a high-density recording medium capable of a chemical or physical change on a molecular basis under an external cause, comprising a monomolecular film or a built-up film thereof of a chelate ligand compound having an N=N bond capable of releasing or incorporating a metal ion or a metal atom through cis-trans isomerization when being irradiated with light, and a liquid phase. CONSTITUTION:The recording medium comprises a two-layer built-up film of trans-form chelate ligand molecules 2 on a glass base 7, which is immersed in a liquid phase 6 containing metal ions (or metal atoms) 3 and contained in a container having an upper surface consisting of a transparent glass plate 5. When the recording medium is irradiated with cis-form isomerizing light 4 consisting of light capable of supplying energy necessary for photo- isomerization, such as UV rays and visible rays, in a pattern, photo- isomerization in the direction of hnu' in formula (I) takes place at the irradiated part, whereby the metal ion 3 is incorporated into the molecule, and rearrangement into a cis-form chelate ligand molecule 1 is caused. Accordingly, a recording medium with information recorded therein can be obtained.

    • PURPOSE:To enhance the memorizing efficiency of a recording material as well as permit light-writing with high speeds by a method in which a proton donator is adsorbed on a tungsten oxide layer or a molybdenum oxide layer and a protective layer is laminated on the layer. CONSTITUTION:A proton donator is adsorbed on a WO3 layer or MoO3 layer to raise the luminosity efficiency of the layer, and a protective layer is laminated on the layer to suppress the fading deterioration of the color-forming layer and thus to enhance the efficiency of recording and memorization. Usually, a WO3 layer as the color-forming layer 2 of 3,000Angstrom is deposited on a base plate 1 (e.g., glass, plastics, metals, or ceramics) by vacuum vapor deposition (resister heating or electron beam method.) The WO3 layer-deposited base plate is held in the open air saturated with a proton donator (e.g., water, alcohol, or acid) for one hour to cause the proton donator to adsorb on the WO3 layer. A metal, metal oxide, or metal fluoride as a protective layer 3 is laminated on the WO3 layer by vacuum deposition or sputtering method.

    • PURPOSE:To easily duplicate a document, by providing a capsule layer, which is formed by integrally solidifying capsule particles each formed by covering a viscous liquid recording material with an outer shell by a binder, and an image receiving medium, to which the viscous liquid of the capsule layer is adhered, on a support. By this method, the capsule particles at the pressurized or heated pat of a toner layer 3 are broken to flow out a liquid which is, in turn, adhered to the image receiving medium 4 to form a viscous image 3a on the image receiving medium 4. The image receiving medium 4 is peeled off from a material 1 and mounted to the rotary drum 8 of a printing apparatus so as to turn the image surface upwardly and used as a plate to perform printing.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a photo-recording medium capable of writing and erasing by simple operations by forming a thin film composed of a metal and an electron acceptor with cyano group on a substrate. CONSTITUTION:A thin film composed of a metal and an electron acceptor with cyano group is formed on a substrate 1 by a physical or chemical vapor deposition method, and the substrate 1 is heated during or after the vapor deposition to form the thin film of a metal salt on the substrate 1.
