    • PURPOSE:To provide a self-curing mold material for casting Ti (alloy) which accelerates curing and improves compressive strength by adding the salts of alkaline (earth) metals as a curing accelerator to aggregate consisting essentially of MgO. CONSTITUTION:A self-curing mold material for casting Ti or Ti alloy is formed by adding >=1 kind among the hydrogencarbonate, carbonate and phosphate of alkali metals and the hydrogencarbonate, carbonate and phosphate of alkaline earth metals, for example, NAHCO3, KH2PO4, etc. as a curing accelerator to aggregate consisting essentially of MgO. A casting mold prepd. by kneading the mold material added with such soluble salts with water is accelerated of the solidification reation and cures in a shorter time and therefore the working stage for producing the casting mold and casting is made more efficient.
