    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply uniform load to a ring from the outer periphery thereof and to facilitate the positioning of ring and a mounted body. SOLUTION: This ring compressor includes: two or more pressing members 2 radially mounted with the tips thereof toward the central axis O of a base 1, the tips being moved forward and backward to the central axis O on a predetermined plane; a turning body 3 mounted on the base 1 to rotate round the central axis O; and driven means 25, 32 forwarding the tip of each pressing member 2 toward the central axis O with the rotation of the turning body 3 so that load is applied from the outside of the ring by the tips of the pressing members 2. Thus, the load is applied from the outside of the ring by the forwarding tips. The compressor is further provided with latching means 16, 26 for holding the ring with respect to the tips.     • PURPOSE:To intrude a joining part into the other steel pipe while reducing radially the joining part to join them tightly to each other without causing an electric potential corrosion, by inserting the joining part, formed by expanding the end part of a stainless steel pipe, into the same stainless steel pipe, and fitting a shrinkage ring to the outer circumference of the joining part. CONSTITUTION:A joint 2 is formed by expanding the end part of a stainless steel pipe similar to a stainless steel pipe 1, into a cylindrical shape having an inner diameter 0.05-0.35mm. larger than a maximum diameter obtained in consideration of a tolerance of the stainless steel pipe 1. Further, a shrinkage ring 3 consists of a material having the same yielding point or 0.2% offset yield strength of the pipe 1 or larger ones; the outer diameter D and width W of the ring 3 are 1.25-1.6 and 0.35-0.7 times the outer diameter (d) of the pipe 1, and the inner diameter (d') of the cylindrical part 3c is 0.92-0.98 times the sum (d+2t), where (d) is the outer diameter of the pipe 1 and (t) is the wall thickness of the expanded part of the joint 2; further, the width W of the cylindrical part 3c is 0.03-0.32 times the outer diameter (d) of the pipe 1.
