    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact, light, and inexpensive apparatus for observing the vocal cords which is used for observing vibrations of the vocal cords having a plurality of vibrating parts due to a disease or the like and is capable of observing the plurality of vibrating parts in detail at a time with an easy operation. SOLUTION: The apparatus 100 for observing the vocal cords comprises an oscillation frequency detection means 10 for detecting a plurality of fundamental oscillation frequencies of the vocal cords 2 of a patient 1 which are contained in sounds detected by a sound detection means 3, a signal generation means 10 for generating a frequency different from the fundamental oscillation frequency with regard to each of the detected plurality of fundamental oscillation frequencies, light sources 21 and 22 for emitting light on the basis of each generated signal and for illuminating a vibrating part of the vocal cords 2 that vibrates at the fundamental oscillation frequency corresponding to the frequency, a photography means 5 for photographing each vibrating part illuminated by the light sources 21 and 22, and an output means 10 for outputting the captured image.
