    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color tone gauge which enables achieving of a learning effect of an ideal color scheme balance from a view point of recognizing a color classification, and besides, easy delicate selecting of colors in compliance with the line-up number of colored sheets (of the same hue) and the line-up number of color marking pens (of the same hue). SOLUTION: This color tone gauge comprises hue plates 1, each with a tongue piece 1c foldable to the back of a substrate 1a for every hue, constituting a painted hue ring 1b, and almost disc-like indicator plates 3, each showing a chart 3a indicating the color scheme balance and a complementary color relationship, using the hue ring 1b rotatably provided centering around the center part of the substrate 1a, formed on the outer peripheral part of the substrate 1a with the hue ring 1b. In addition, the tongue piece 1c is painted in a color coinciding with the line-up number of the colored sheets (of the same hue) and the line-up number of the color marking pens (of the same hue).     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lessen the development of a trouble on the action of a valve element by a method wherein the sedimentation of an ink pigment in the periphery of the valve element controlling the supply of an ink to a pen core is reduced. SOLUTION: In a writing utensil 1, in which the ink in an ink chamber 2 is fed to the pen core 5 by the axial pressing of the ink core 5 and which is equipped with a valve seat 91 lying between the ink chamber 2 and the pen core 5, a valve element 6 exchanging a close position, at which the cutting-off of the pen core 5 from the ink chamber 2 is realized through the abutting of the valve element 6 against the valve seat 91, for an open position, at which the communication of the pen core 5 with the ink chamber 2 is realized through the separation of the valve element 6 from the valve seat 91, a press spring 8 energizing the valve element 6 towards the tip side of a penholder 3 and a holding member 7 for holding the valve element 6 and the press spring 8 so as to make the valve element 6 axially shiftable, the holding member 7 has a communicating passage 11 communicating its interior with the ink chamber 2 and the valve element 6 has flow passage controlling part 66, which controls the circulation of the ink in the communicating passage 11 much more under its close position than that under its open position.
