    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a superconducting current limiter that implements a high-performance superconducting current limiting function through simple circuitry.
      SOLUTION: A superconducting element 14 is connected to a linkage line 22 that links a first power system 11 and a second power system 12 together. In the superconducting element, a first element portion 141 and a second element portion 142 each having inductance are so arranged that the inductance of the entire element is canceled out. A detector 15 detects voltage drop in the linkage line 22. Receiving a detection signal from the detector 15, a controller 16 outputs an actuating signal when voltage drop in the linkage line 22 is larger than a set value. Receiving an actuating signal from the controller 16, a switch 17 electrically connects the following together: a first junction point 18a located at some midpoint in the current path of the first element portion 141 and a second junction point 18b located at some midpoint in the current path of the second element portion 142.
