SOLUTION: Ordinary combustion control means 100 executes ordinary combustion control in which combustion of a burner 3 is started or interrupted when water supply to a heat exchanger 2 is started or interrupted, and the amount of combustion of the burner 3 is adjusted such that hot water supply temperature reaches a target temperature when water supply is detected. Heat insulation combustion control means 101 enters a gas/liquid-judgment mode to judge the existence of hot water in the heat exchanger 2 when the insulation combustion is required even in the state where water supply to the heat exchanger 2 is interrupted. If it is indicated that hot water exists, then combustion of the burner 3 is started. In the gas/liquid judgment mode, there is employed as gas/liquid-judgment means a temperature detecting device provided on a hot water passage from a water entrance passage 5 to a hot water exit passage 6 or in the vicinity of the heat exchanger 2.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent useless consumption of water, by providing a judging means to judge the necessity to feed antifreezing water and an actuation means moving on the basis of the judgment. SOLUTION: In order to prevent a water supply passage 2 like a hot water supplier 3 from freezing, a faucet 1 is opened to allow the water to flow through the water supply passage 2. In this time, the water temperature in the water supply passage is detected by a water temperature detection means like a hot water temperature sensor 13 or the like in the judging means 30. When the detected temperature is lower than a preset temperature, it is judged that it is necessary to allow water to flow and when the detected temperature is higher than the preset temperature, it is judged that it is not necessary to allow water to flow. When the means 30 judges that water is not necessary, a closing valve controller 36 closes the valve 34 and when the means 30 judges that water feed is necessary, an opening valve controller 37 opens the valve 34. Then, when the means judges that it is necessary to feed water, a controller 38 for water-feed necessity information lights a freeze caution lamp 35 and when the means judges that it is unnecessary to feed water, a controller 39 for water-feed unnecessariness information extinguishes the freeze caution lamp 35. In this way, the water can be securely prevented from flowing when the antifreeze means is not required.

When the hot water delivery target temperature is altered when water supply is interrupted, temperatures before and after alteration are compared and a lower temperature is selected as a set temperature. More specifically, a heat insulation target temperature is set based on the hot water delivery target temperature immediately before interruption of water supply.

There is provided a pipe heating control means 16 for performing a control operation if an anti-freezing combustion starting condition is satisfied under a condition of stopped feeding of water, heating of the lower pipe heating means 15 is started and in turn, if it satisfies a condition of stopping an anti-freezing combustion, it is controlled to be stopped.
