This process is carried out periodically or not periodically. The decomposition products of petroleum compds. from the culture medium are removed by using a difference in solubility between the decomposition products and the residual compds. or a difference in specific gravity between these.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a stainproofing material excellent in repelling effects on underwater microorganisms forming a slime, and large-foulings, having sustained effects, safe to human body and hardly causing environmental pollution. SOLUTION: This stainproofing material comprises 50-90wt.% of a thermosetting resin and 10-50wt.% of a nirogen-containing compound having 79.1-50,000 molecular weight. A solvent-free epoxy resin, a resol resin or a silicone having about 2,500-10,000 molecular weight is preferable as the thermosetting resin. The nitrogen-containing compound is at least one selected from an indole compound of the formula (Y is a hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl group or phenyl group; X1 , X2 , X3 , X4 , X5 and X6 are each the same or different and a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a lower alkyl, etc.) (e.g. 2,3-dimethylindole, 3- indolylacetonitrile, 3-indolyl acetate, etc.,) and a pyridine compound (e.g. pyridine, cyanopyridine, nicotinic acid amide, etc.).

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an antifouling coating material having a long effective period and high safety by allowing the coating material to include a material containing nitrogen and selected from an amphoteric surface active agent, an antistatic agent or the like as a film-forming component.
