    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical waveguide module, having various superior optical characteristics, and a technique capable of easily manufacturing the optical waveguide module at a low cost. SOLUTION: This method for manufacturing the optical waveguide module, which is formed by connecting a light-inputting and outputting optical fiber to an optical waveguide is provided with a process for working an optical fiber inserting V groove to a substrate, a process for coating a high polymer film stripping thin film onto the V-groove area of the V-grooved substrate, an optical waveguide layer manufacturing process for manufacturing an embedding- type high polymer optical waveguide in a prescribed position on the V-grooved substrate, a process for cutting a part of the optical waveguide and the substrate in the thickness direction at a prescribed position of the substrate, a process for immersing the high polymer optical waveguide together with the V-grooved substrate into a prescribed solution and stripping only high polymer stuck onto the V-groove region from the substrate, a process for preliminarily working both connecting surfaces, so as to have a tilt between both optical axes and the surface normal of the connecting surface, when inserting the optical fiber into the re-exposed V-groove part and optically connecting to the high polymer optical waveguide without aligning, and a process for firmly fixing the optical fiber to the V-grooved substrate or the high polymer optical waveguide, using an optical adhesive.
