    • PURPOSE: To prevent the dielectric breakdown of a change-over switching device so as to prevent the power failure of a feeder circuit by providing a current discharge means for making a residual current flow to an earth, between an intermediate section and the earth divided by a pair of change-over switching devices. CONSTITUTION: A discharge device 1, a current discharge means, is installed between an intermediate section 5 and the earth 30. An opening signal from a change-over switching device 7 is inputted to the control device 2 of the discharge device 1 after a vehicle 10 passes the change-over switching device 7. On the basis of this input, the ultraviolet ray generating device 15 of the discharge device 1 receives a command from the control device 2 and irradiates ultraviolet rays 15A to a discharge gap 14 so as to apply a trigger to the discharge gap 14 and thereby to make the discharge gap conductive, and the residual current of the intermediate section 5 flows to the earth 30 through the discharge gap 14 and a discharge resistance 13. The dielectric breakdown of the change-over switching device 7 is thereby prevented, and the power failure of a feeder circuit can be prevented.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce the capacity of the controlling contact part as well as to cut down the breaking time of the titled device by a method wherein the electromagnetic energy of a solenoid coil is consumed by a transistor using the transistor and a flywheel diode. CONSTITUTION:The solenoid coil 11 and the transistor 7 are connected directly, and the flywheel diode is connected to the above in parallel to the series circuit. Now, when a contact point 12 is open-circuited in order to deenergize the coil 11, the output of a diode bridge circuit 4 is zeroed, and the voltage on a capacitor 6 begins to discharge. On the other hand, output voltage is inverted by the back electromotive force of the coil 11. The electromagnetic energy of the coil 11 is transformed into the heat emitted from the transistor 7 by the drop in voltage on the transistor 7, and radiated rapidly from the cooling piece of said transistor 7. Through these procedures, the generation of an arc can be suppressed to the minimum, thereby enabling to reduce the capacity of controlling contact point as well as to shorten the breaking time of the titled device.
