    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection type video display device which is applicable to any projection type video display device independently of a classification of its display light modulation part and its configuration and can always measure and adjust luminance of a display video.
SOLUTION: The projection type video display device includes; a light source 11, a display light modulation part 13; a light modulation control part 23; a transmission/reflection part 12 for separating emitted light from the light source 11 into transmitted light 52 and a reflected light 53; a luminance measuring part 16 for measuring the luminance of light for measurement out of the transmitted light 52 and the reflected light 53; a storage part 18 for storing an initial constant value of the luminance of light for measurement; and a correction coefficient operation part 17 for operating a correction coefficient which approximately equalizes the measured value of the luminance to the initial constant value in the case the measured value and the initial constant value do not coincide with each other as the result of comparison. The light modulation control part 23 corrects the luminance of a display signal by the correction coefficient outputted from the correction coefficient operation part 17 and then outputs a video signal inputted from the outside.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce the resolution degradation and waveform distortion of a luminance signal by executing the FM demodulation of a signal, for which a small amplitude signal is removed from the output signal of a pre-amplifier and the color component signal of a large amplitude is subtracted from the output signal of the pre-amplifier. CONSTITUTION:The output signal of a low-pass filter 6 is supplied to a deadband circuit 9, which constitutes a large amplitude signal extracting means, and the deadband circuit 9 removes a low level signal and makes a high level signal pass through. Next, the output signal of a pre-amplifier 3 is supplied to a delay equalizer 10 and the output signal of the deadhead circuit 9 is subtracted from the output signal of the delay equalizer 10 by subtracter 11. When a chrominance signal is a large amplitude signal to be the interference of an FM luminance signal, the output signal of the subtracter 11 widely suppresses a low frequency part and when the chrominance signal is a small signal not to nearly any influence, a frequency characteristic is made almost plane. Then, the characteristic is changed according to the size of a chrominance signal level. The output signal of the subtracter 11 is supplied to an FM demodulator 5 and demodulated to a base band luminance signal.

    • PURPOSE:To enhance S/N improvement effect without introducing color dislocation by inserting an correlation device to instantaneously detect the correlation and non-correlation of an input signal into the feedback loop of a circulation type comb line filter. CONSTITUTION:The title filter consists of a substrate 2, an 1H delay circuit 3, a correlation device 7, and a coefficient circuit 5. The correlation device 7 inserted into the feedback loop instantaneously detects the correlation and non-correlation between an input signal X to the 1H delay circuit 3 and a Y signal in a picture vertical direction. By applying the low pass filter in the picture vertical directions and eliminating a chrominance signal when the correlation exists, and by feeding back the non-correlating component to an input side and subtracting it at the time of the non-correlation, the loop of the filter is closed and an output is stopped. Thus, without generating the color dislocation in the non-correlating part, the S/N improvement effect can be made larger.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a good picture quality by applying non-linear preemphasis, executing a Y/C separation by a comb-line filter to record and attenuating a low level signal according to a non-linear deemphasis at the time of a reproduction. CONSTITUTION:At the time of recording, according to an input signal level, a luminance signal (Y signal) and a chrominance signal (C signal) are separated by the comb-line filter 37 after passing a non-linear preemphasis circuit 24 for emphasizing a high frequency component. At the time of a recording, the part high in the saturation of the C signal remarkable in an interference is not emphasized in the non-linear preemphasis circuit 24 to execute the Y/C separation by the comb-line filter 37 and at the time of reproducing, a residual C signal attenuated according to the Y/C separation is attenuated in a non-linear deemphasis circuit 25. Thereby, the leakage of the C signal to the Y signal is reduced and the deterioration in the S/N of the C signal can be suppressed.
