    • PURPOSE:To reduce the color phase irregularity at the horizontal ends of a screen, by making an electron beam acceleration electrode of a flat plate and providing the electrode with holes corresponding to the positions of passage of electron beams, and by attaching the electrode with horizontal support plates to the fluorescent screen. CONSTITUTION:In an image display device, a plurality of cathodes and a plurality of flat electrodes are disposed between a rear electrode and a screen and sealed in a glass container. An electron beam acceleration electrode block, which is provided between a horizontal convergence electrode 6a and a fluorescent surface 9, is constructed so that an acceleration electrode 23 made of a flat plate and having the same number of holes as the horizontal convergence electrode 6a is welded to a frame 25 and attached to the fluorescent surface 9 through support plates 24 welded to the lateral portions of the electrode 23 and the inside surfaces of the vertical portions of the frame. As a result, the infiltration of an electric field toward the fluorescent surface 9 through the holes of the acceleration electrode 23 is reduced to prevent the electric field from being disturbed by the vertical portions of the frame 25 to cause color phase irregularity at the horizontal ends of the screen of the device.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of an image displaying equipment by providing uniform ratio of the cross sectional area of an electrode to flat of a spacer in the respective Y-Z planes thereof all over the X-Y plane, where the picture screen is assumed as X-Y plane. CONSTITUTION:As the figure shows, a slit 39 is formed in the spacer 38 an outer frame joint and the cross sectional area of the spacer 38 is made small and the ratio of the cross sectionals area of the spacer 38 to that of an electrode is made equal to that in the central jointed part, hence no difference is produced in reduction of size due to calcinate joining. Thereby, the pitch irregularity in central portions of respective electrodes and near the out frame can be reduce to about 5mum or less and high quality of the image display device can be produced.

    • PURPOSE:To eliminate defective landing of electron beam and obtain high quality image having no defect by using non-magnetic material for electrode and structural parts of image display device wherein at least the display surface is housed in a transparent glass. CONSTITUTION:A display device is composed of a rear surface electrode 1, a line cathode 2 as the electron beam source, vertical focusing electrodes 3a, 3b, a vertical deflection electrode 4, a beam flow control electrode 5, a horizontal focusing electrode 6, a horizontal deflection electrode 7, a beam acceleration electrode 8 and a screen plate 9 arranged in this sequence from the rear side. These are housed in a flat and vacuum glass bulb. For these electrode materials, non magnetic materials such as non magnetic stainless, copper alloy and titanium alloy are used. Thereby, defective landing of electron beam can be eliminated and high quality image having no defect can be obtained.
