    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reproduce a requested recording layer quickly and without fail by a method wherein, if the transfer of the focus of an object lens is failed when a recording layer to be reproduced is changed while one of the recording layers of an optical disc having 2 or more recording layers on its one side is reproduced, a requested recording layer is identified from a focus error signal and focus servo is applied. SOLUTION: When a recording layer to be reproduced is changed, the focus of an object lens is transferred by the changeover of a switch 13. When the object lens is transferred by a signal which is generated in accordance with the detection of the change a focus error signal outputted by a preamplifier circuit 3, the switch 13 is so controlled as to be changed over to an actuator driver 9 side. If a focus signal following the transfer of the object lens is not obtained by the flaw of an optical disc 1, etc., and the transfer of the object lens is failed, the object lens is transferred downward and a focus error signal outputted by the preamplifier circuit 3 is detected and then the switch 13 is changed over to the actuator driver 9 side to detect a requested recording layer which is reproduced.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To move an optical pick-up to a target position at a high speed, by moving an objective lens so as to focus on a target layer when a recording layer of target information differs, and then calculating the distance between two physical positions, that is, the current position and the target position. SOLUTION: First, the position of an optical pick-up for reading current position information recording on a disk is checked. Then, it is judged whether the recording position of target information is equal to the current recording layer. When the recording position of target information is not equal to the current recording layer, an objective lens is moved in a direction perpendicular to the disk so as to focus on the target layer. Then, the current position of the optical pick-up is checked. The current position and the target position are converted to physical positions on the disk, and the distance between the relative two points is calculated. Thus, the optical pick-up may be moved to the target position at a high speed without reading the position information recorded on the disk during moving. After the movement, the pick-up is caused to access the target information recording position while the position information recorded on the disk is checked. Thus, high-speed access is easily carried out.

    • PURPOSE:To improve an accessing speed at a reproducing time by controlling a disk recorded at a constant linear velocity to a constant angular velocity and changing a reference clock frequency corresponding to the transmission speed of a digital regenerative signal. CONSTITUTION:The rotation of a motor 2 is controlled so as to be a constant angular velocity with a rotational speed detection signal S1 from the motor 2 by a motor control circuit. Further, an error signal S2 is supplied to a control circuit 6 after a signal from an optical pickup 4 is amplified by a preamplifier 7 and a regenerative signal is supplied to a clock reproducing circuit 8 and the clock of a transmission speed frequency synchronizing with the regenerative signal is generated and outputted to a signal processing circuit 9. The code data of the regenerative signal is detected in the processing circuit 9 and sent to a micro computer 10 and a moving amount till a reproducing position is operated based on an access instruction and access operation is instructed to the control circuit. Thus, the motor is rotated at a constant angular velocity and a motor control time for making a constant linear velocity is eliminated and a reproduction accessing speed is improved.
