    • PURPOSE:To prevent lubricating oil from spraying outwards by means of extruding members so as to improve the lubricating ability by forming semi-cylindrical extruding members extruding over the cam circumferential surface above the cam shaft of an OHC type engine integrally on the side surface of a bearing. CONSTITUTION:The cam shaft 7 of an OHC type engine is formed by providing a plurality of pair of cams 8 corresponding respectively to plural pistons arranged in a row within a cylinder block, and supported rotatably on the upper portion of a cylinder head 2 by means of plural beings 15. Each bearing 15 has a cap 17 adapted to cover the upper portion of the bearing formed between a pair of cams 8 of the cam shaft 7, and the cap 17 is fixed to a base 16 through bolts B. In this case, each semi-cylindrical extruding member 26 is integrally formed coaxially with the bearing surface 22 of the cap 17 on the both side surfaces 17a of the cap 17. The extruding member 26 has sufficient width to reach the upper portion of the cam 8 when the cap is attached and is formed in order that it covers the circumferential/surface 8a of the cam 8.

    • PURPOSE:To achieve the simplification of structure and the enhancement in assembling workability, by forming, in a tappet chamber whose one side is communicated with a crankcase, a breather chamber whose other side is communicated with the atmosphere by means of an enclosing wall which rises from the upper surface of a cam holder so as to be joined to a head cover. CONSTITUTION:On a cylinder head 6, a head cover 9 is fitted by means of bolts 7, and between both a tappet chamber 8 in which a valve system 31 is housed is partitioned. The tappet chamber 8 is communicated with the inside of a crankcase 4, and on the upper surface of a cam holder on an intake camshaft 32 side, an enclosing wall 74 which rises so as to enclose a part thereof is integrally formed. The upper end of the enclosing wall 74 is joined to the head cover 9 via a seal member 76 to form a breather chamber 75. The breather chamber 75 is communicated with the tappet chamber 8 via a through hole 77 provided in a cam holder 44, and is also communicated with an intake system or the atmosphere via an air introducing pipe 78 provided to the head cover 9 respectively.

    • PURPOSE:To set an engine shaft down to one of intermediate shafts of a power transmission mechanism to a cam shaft as well as to simplify the power transmission mechanism, by installing the engine shaft, transmitting power to a rear wheel, at the cam shaft side from a crankshaft. CONSTITUTION:Centering on a cam shaft 32 driving a suction valve 38 and an exhaust valve 40, an engine shaft 14 is installed at the side of the cam shaft 32 from a crankshaft 12. The engine shaft 14 is driven by a main driving gear 19 of the crankshaft 12 via a main driven gear 20, driving a rear wheel through a first gear group 22 on the engine shaft 14 and a second gear group 24 on an auxiliaty shaft 16. An intermediate shaft 26 is installed in position between the engine shaft 14 and the cam shaft 32, and the cam shaft 32 is driven by the engine shaft 14 through gears 20, 28 and 33. According to this method, since the engine shaft 14 is used as one of the intermediate shaft, a transmission mechanism of driving force to the cam shaft is well simplified.
