A magnetic toner 9 is prepared by fixing conductive particles to the surface of each toner particle containing a fixing resin, a magnetic powder, and a 0.5-2.0wt.% positively chargeable charge controller and further fixing fine silica particles onto the outside to control a bulk resistivity to OMEGA.cm and a surface resistivity to 10 -10 OMEGA.cm. The toner image is formed on the surface of the recording body 1 by feeding the magnetic toner 9 to the recording zone, applying recording signal voltage corresponding to an original image to the recording electrode 6.

    • A method of electrophotography in which an electrostatic latent image is formed on the surface of a material layer and a non-magnetic cylinder is provided to confront the surface of said material layer. A permanent magnet roll made up of a plurality of symmetrically arranged magnetic poles extends axially in said cylinder. A magnetic brush is formed by attracting a semiconducting or insulating magnetic toner onto the cylinder with the aid of a magnetic attraction force of the permanent magnet roll. The cylinder and permanent magnet roll are moved relative to each other to permit the magnetic brush to slide along the surface of the material layer thereby to allow the magnetic toner to adhere at predetermined position on the surface of said material layer, and a toner image is transferred onto a transferring member and is then subjected to fixing. The cylinder and the permanent magnet roll are rotated in the same direction so that the magnetic toner is moved in the same direction as that of said material layer at a speed less than 100 mm/sec irrespective of the speed of movement of the surface of said material layer at a development section.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a reversal image which has the especially high resolution and does not generate dust around the image, by giving a positive electrification characteristic to an image carrier and giving a negative electrification characteristic to a magnetic toner and applying a positive DC voltage to a sleeve. CONSTITUTION:Such characteristic is given to a toner 3 that it is electrified negatively with a polarity opposite to that of an electrostatic latent image formed on a photoconductive layer 1a, and the toner has a negative electric charge in the carrying stage by contacting between the toner 3 and a sleeve 4 or a doctor blade 6 and between toner particles. At the time of reaching the developing area, the toner 3 having the negative electric charge is stuck to the non-image part of the photoconductive layer 1a to form a toner image. This toner image reaches a transfer position by the rotation of a photosensitive drum 1, and a negative electric field having a polarity opposite to that of the electrostatic latent image is applied from the rear face of a transfer sheet to transfer the toner image onto the transfer sheet, and this image is fixed by a means using heat or pressure.
