    • PURPOSE:To provide the title apparatus designed to reduce the inventry of hydrogen (its isotopes), by providing a belt on which a hydrogen-occluding metal or alloy has been held and making such a construction as to circulate said belt between a low-temperature section for occluding hydrogen (its isotopes) and a high-temperature section for releasing the hydrogen (its isotopes). CONSTITUTION:A vacuum vessel 1 is divided into a low-temperature section 2 for occluding hydrogen (its isotopes) and a high-temperature section 3 for releasing hydrogen (its isotopes) and the airtightness of the both sections is retained by a sluice valve 4. Plural containers 6 packed with a hydrogen- occluding metal or alloy are located on a belt 5. Hydrogen (its isotopes) is introduced via the entrance 7 into the low-temperature section 2 and is made to be occluded into said metal or alloy. Thence, said belt 5 is rotated to feed one of said containers 6 into the high-temperature section 3 to release the hydrogen (its isotopes); concurrently, another one of said containers 6 is fed through the opposite side of the belt 5 into the low-temperature section 2. The above- mentioned apparatus is particularly suitable for the deuterium purification and recovery processes in a nuclear fusion furnace.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the capturing efficiency of an alpha radioactive material and the detection sensitivity of a low level of alpha radiation dose by capturing pulverized particles by the electrostatic force of a dielectric high-polymer film (electret) which is polarized and electrified by the electric charge applied thereto under a high voltage. CONSTITUTION:For example, a tetrafluoroethylene/hexafluoropropylene copolymer resin is subjected to a prescribed treatment to obtain a high-polymer film 19 as the electret to forma thermoluminescence dosimeter (TLD) element. The electric charge is applied to such high-polymer film 19 under the high voltage to preliminarily hold the high surface charge; thereafter,the film is installed in a dust collecting chamber 32. The air contg. the suspended dust to be monitored is sucked by a block 34 and the dust is captured by the electrostatic force of the high-polymer film 19. The high- polymer film 19 with which the capturing ends is taken out after the prescribed time and is installed in a dark box 59 where the film is heated by a heater 52. The unstable crystal lattice by the dose to which the TLD element is subjected is thereby changed to the stable crystal lattice. Since the quantity of the fluorescence emitted in this stage is proportional to the instability of the crystal lattice, the measurement is made with a photomultiplier 55 and integration 57 is made, by which the radiation dose is obtd.
