    • PURPOSE:To fix the gain of a sound circuit of a VTR from a video camera by adding the output signal in a prescribed level of an oscillator having a frequency other than the audio frequency and a sound signal and supplying the addition result to the VTR. CONSTITUTION:A microphone amplifier 3 amplifies the sound signal of a microphone 2 and applies it to an adding circuit 5, and an oscillator 4 outputs a signal of 20kHz and 10dB to the circuit 5. The circuit 5 adds outputs of the amplifier 3 and the oscillator 4 and inputs the addition result to an automatic gain control circuit 9 and a sound amplifier 10 of a VTR7, and the circuit 9 reduces the gain of the amplifier by the input of the signal of the oscillator 4. Thus, the gain of the amplifier 10 is constant unless the sound signal level of the circuit 5 inputted to the circuit 9 exceeds 10dB, and the sound input signal and the audio output signal of the amplifier 10 are proportional to each other, and the unnatural phenomenon that the sound of a sound output terminal 11 disappears suddenly by the input of the external sounds.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the quality of a still picture by suppressing the occurrence of dark edge caused by a contour correcting processing for improving resolution feeling. SOLUTION: A contour correcting signal generation part 13 extracts high frequency components from an inputted picture signal 11 to output a contour correcting signal consisting of pre-shoot and over-shoot. The contour correcting signal from the part 13 is restricted to avoid becoming equal to or lower than a prescribed negative limit level by a limiter 4. The output signal of a limiter 14 is amplified by a gain adjusting part 15, and the amplified contour correcting signal and the signal 11 are added by an adder 16. By increasing the gain of the part 15 compared with 0, the signal 11 is added with the contour correcting signal to correct a contour and a picture signal made to be equal to or higher than the limit level is outputted on the negative side of the output signal. Thus, the generation of a black edge is suppressed to improve the quality of a still picture.

    • PURPOSE:To surely correct a white level defect caused by a temperature rise or the like by comparing position information of a defective picture element obtained in the defective picture element detection mode with position information of a defective picture element stored already and storing newly only new position information to a defective picture element position storage means. CONSTITUTION:A white level defect correction circuit 7 keeps closing an iris 2 after application of power to prevent incident light onto a solid-state image pickup element 4. Furthermore, in order to easily detect a white level defect, the gain of an AGC circuit 5 is increased. A signal is read from each picture element of the solid-state image pickup element 4 synchronously with a pulse of a synchronizing signal generating circuit 3 while keeping a closing iris and the increased gain. Then the signal level is compared with a threshold level and the white level defect correction circuit 7 gives position information of the picture element from which a higher level of signal is obtained than the threshold level to a microprocessor 11. When the received position information is not in the memory 10 in comparison with the position information having been stored in the past in the memory 10 and the information is not in the memory 10, the information is stored in the memory 10.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent such a malfunction as a screen hue is varied carelessly due to an instantaneous color temperature variation by constituting the video camera so that when a color temperature of illumination of an object to be photographed is varied, an automatic white adjusting circuit operates only in the case its state is continued exceeding a certain prescribed time. CONSTITUTION:A video signal read out of an image pickup element 1 is separated into a luminance signal (y) and color signals (R, B) in a signal processing circuit 2. Thereafter, they are calculated by a matrix circuit 4, two color difference signals R-Y, B-Y are generated, and generated white adjustment control signals are fed back to gain control circuits 3r, 3b in the end, and white adjustment is executed so as to become R-Y=0, and B-Y=0 in an output of the matrix circuit 4. Subsequently, in the case a color temperature of illumination of an object to be photographed is varied, when its state is continued exceeding a prescribed time, an automatic white adjusting circuit is operated. In such a way, such a malfunction as a hue of a video signal in the course of photographing is varied carelessly by an instantaneous color temperature variation can be eliminated.
