    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain the enhancing of the followup ability of an optical pickup to an optical disk and the miniaturizing of an optical pickup device with a simple constitution by passing the whole or one part of a light beam through the air space surrounded with a tracking coil and a focusing coil which are fixed to a holder and are adjacent each other. SOLUTION: The whole or one part of a light beam 8 passes through the air space surrounded with a tracking coil 4 and a focusing coil 5 which are fixed to a holder 3 and are adjacent each other to be made incident on a mirror 10 and is changed to the optical axis direction of an objective lens 7 by the mirror 10. At the time of a focus control, an electromagnetic force acts in the direction of a sliding axis in the gap of a magnetic circuit by causing a current flow with respect to the coil 5 in a positive or a reverse direction to operate the objective lens 7 in the optical axial direction of the lens according to the surface wobbling of the recording surface of the optical disk and an optical beam spot is made to follow up on the recording surface of the disk. Moreover, at the time of a tracking control, an electromagnetic force acts as a rotational couple of forces around the axis in the gap of the magnetic circuit by causing the current of a positive or reverse direction flow to the coil 4 to make the light beam spot follow up to the eccentricity of a track.
