    • PURPOSE:To prevent a displayed image from being distorted by setting a sampling frequency so that the ratio of a sampling interval in the horizontal direction of a horizontal scanning line in the image of a television receiver to an interval in a vertical direction between the horizontal scanning lines may be the aspect ratio of the picture element of a display device. CONSTITUTION:As for a TV video, consecutive values are obtained in the horizontal direction of a horizontal scanning line. Then, in order to make the TV video into a digital image, it is necessary to sample the video at specified sampling intervals so as to obtain the interval of the picture element in the horizontal direction of the digital image. A synchronizing signal extraction part 13 extracts a horizontal synchronizing signal Hs and a vertical synchronizing signal Vs from an NTSC signal and transmits them to a sampling clock generation part 14. On the basis of the transmitted signals, the sampling clock generation part 14 generates a sampling clock SC at the sampling frequency (fs) and supplies it to an A/D converter 12 as a clock for giving data conversion timing. Thus, the displayed image is prevented from being distorted even when the TV video is displayed on the display device for a computer.

From the packet received by the receiving part 1, the header is removed by a header removing part 4, and only the data are inputted to a first-in first-out memory 5. Simultaneously when the header is outputted by the selector 3, the data are inputted and outputted from the memory 5 to the selector 3.
