摘要： PURPOSE:To fully automate processes for synthesize two narrow area maps and to prepare a map, further to eliminate the vegueness of the result and to decrease an arithmetic quantity in the case of synthesization. CONSTITUTION:In the case of selecting a pair of overlapped reference points, a threshold depending on the measurement error of each object point is used (step 104). As an evaluating method for the degree of overlapping the two narrow area maps, a positive evaluation value is applied when there is the object point included in one narrow area map 'near' the object point included in the other narrow area map, a negative evaluation value is applied when there is no object point, and the total sum of evaluation values is calculated (step 106) concerning all the object points in the overlapped area. Concerning the combination of all the pairs of overlapped reference points, the degree of overalpping is evaluated (step 107) and the map is synthesized (step 108) assuming that the maximum evaluation value shows the most exact overlapping.

摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain the sloping direction of an edge picture element train in a picture with high accuracy by obtaining previously the system error characteristic when the edge sloping direction is obtained out of a digital picture and correcting the obtained error characteristic. CONSTITUTION:The system error characteristic is obtained by an experiment for a TV camera and a differential operator which are actually used. Then the edge direction is measured via the TV camera and the differential operator for a picture which is actually photographed. Then the correction value of the edge sloping direction is obtained for the obtained measurement value from an equation thetac = theta + a.sin4theta, and the genuine value is estimated. In the equa tion, theta shows the measurement value of the sloping direction, thetac shows the correction value of the sloping direction, and (a) shows the maximum system error respectively. Thus it is possible to correct the system error included in the sloping direction theta of a digital picture and then to measure the curvature of an edge picture element train with high accuracy.

摘要： PURPOSE:To enable precise measurement of an edge length in a digital image by taking edge gradient directions at two sample points and the relative positional relationship thereof into consideration. CONSTITUTION:First, in respect to sample points Pi and Pj of two pixels containing edges inside, a point Oc of intersection of two straight lines drawn in edge gradient directions thetai and thetaj at the sample points of the two pixels and a triangle OcPiPj set by these three points Pi, Pj and Oc, the radiuses of curvature of the two pixels are determined from a segment OcPi or OcPj or an average value of the two segments. Moreover, lengths obtained by cutting off the products of a difference in the edge gradient direction between the two pixels and the radiuses of curvature by two normals drawn from the two pixels to the edges are taken as the lengths of the edges. By determining the lengths of arcs in relation to the central angle obtained as differences in the edge gradient directions by using the relative positional relationship of the pixels and the edge gradient directions at the sample points Pi and Pj thereof, in other words, edge lengths in a digital image can be measured with high precision.

Then, plural cores are bundled and joined together opposite fibers in tape cores. For the purpose, fiber coating joint parts are heated and fused. Consequently, tape cores and single-core fibers are easily connected together by using the multicore batch fusion splicing device.

摘要： PURPOSE:To make a uniform mirror finishing surface securable without fail, by letting an optical fiber strike against a grinder from its tip end in a vertical direction and, after making it bent to some extent, grinding the tip end till this bending dwindles away to nothing. CONSTITUTION:An optical fiber 1 is made to strike against a grinder 5 in a vertical direction in the state that it is supported by a supporting mobile mechanism, whereby a tip end of an optical fiber core wire 3 is held so as to be somewhat bent. In this state, when the grinder 5 is rotated, this bending part of the optical fiber core wire 3 is gradually ground by ridigity inherent in the optical fiber core wire 3 and frictional force to be added by the grinder 5 in combination. And, at last this bending part is brought to nothing, whereby the tip end of the core wire 3 is mirror-finishedly ground in an almost plane surface. Thus, facing treatment for the optical fiber is performable in a short time without entailing any drawbacks due to both bearking and grinding processes, and consequently a uniform mirror-finishing surface is securable.
