SOLUTION: In this method, a current application line 2 passing a measuring current for measuring the impedance of the storage battery 1, and a voltage measuring line 3 for detecting the voltage of the battery are connected to terminals of the storage battery to measure the impedance of the storage battery. Impedance is measured on the storage battery, with a plus-side measuring line and a plus-side application line connected to a plus terminal 11 of the storage battery disposed on a surface, with the terminals of the storage battery disposed thereon along different sides of the storage battery while disposing a minus-side measuring line and a minus-side application line connected to a minus terminal 12 of the storage battery on the surface of the storage battery so that they are disposed along different sides of the storage battery surface. 摘要： PURPOSE:To improve the dimensional stability and chemical stability of a separator by using a polyvinyl alcohol film which had been treated to closs-link on the surface and oxidize. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a polyvinyl alcohol film, for example degree of polymerization is 1,700, degree of saponification is 98.5mol%, and thickness is 25mu, is treated to closs-link. The closs-linking treatment is performed through acetalization with, for example, any of various aldehydes. For example, a film is treated in a solution containing 5% be weight of formalin, 15% by weight of sulfuric acid, and 15% by weight of sodium sulfate, at 40 deg.C for 7min. Furthermore the film is oxidized by soaking the film in a solution containing, for example, 0.05mol/l of potassium permanganate and 1mol/l of potassium hydroxide at 30 deg.C for 5min to form a separator.

摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain separator excellent in durability and softness by limitting the crystallinity of polyvinyl alcohol and the content of glycol by subjecting both polyvinyl alcohol and glycol to a heating treatment. CONSTITUTION:A polyvinyl alcohol membrane of a thickness of 50 microns and a crystallinity of 0.38, for example, as put on the market, is heat-treated at 130- 200 deg.C in the liquid or vapor phase of a glycol, e.g., hexamethylene glycol, triethylene glycol, etc., in order to control its crystallinity to 0.40-0.60 and its glycol content to 5-20wt%. Thus, it is possible to obtain a separator which is of high crystallinity, high chemical resistance, high softness, and high cracking resistance. The preferred molecular weight and saponification degree of the polyvinyl alcohol used are, respectively, 500-2,000, preferably 1,500-2,000, and 85% or more, preferably 90%.
