    • PURPOSE:To eliminate an unrecordable range in the rear end of a sheet by controlling a recordable range correlating to a detection signal when a sheet supplying device, which enables the fed sheet to be drawn out till a sheet residual amount disappears in a recording part, is detected to be mounted. CONSTITUTION:When assumed lines A for a distance from a sheet sensor 30 to a pinch roller 6 in the front and lines B for a distance from the sheet sensor 30 to a recording head 4, a sheet 5 generates a bottom end space by the lines B-A when a sheet supplying device 8 is not mounted. Then detecting by a sensor 31 the sheet supplying device 8 for whether or not it is mounted, when it is not mounted, the sheet 5 is fed to the line A after a sheet sensor 30 is turned off during printing. While when the device 8 is detected to be mounted, the sheet is fed to the line B, after the sheet sensor 30 is turned off, performing recording by a recording head 4. Thus by simplified further compact constitution, when the sheet supplying device is mounted, an unrecordable range in the rear end of the sheet can be eliminated or substantially reduced.

    • PURPOSE:To enable adaptation to recording sheets having various characteristics, by varying the feeding position in the width direction of a recording sheet feeding mechanism according to the characteristics of the recording sheets, and providing a plurality of guide parts. CONSTITUTION:When a discharging angle theta at which recording sheets are discharged from a sheet guide 9 is enlarged, a recording sheet 3 having high nerve and liable to be curled comes into contact with a lower part of a platen 5, so that it is not discharged (broken line X). When the angle theta is reduced, a recording sheet 3 having low nerve and not liable to be curled comes to the rear side of a sheet guide rib 2d. A tip guide surface of the sheet guide 9 is provided with a thick-paper guide surface 9A and an ordinary-paper guide surface 9B, and the angle theta 3 between the surfaces A and B is set to be, for example, 18 deg.. For recording sheets having low nerve, the discharging angle theta1 at only at left and right end parts is set large, whereas the discharging angle theta 2 at the other part is set small so that even the recording sheets having high nerve do not come into contact with the lower part of the platen 5. With this construction, a variety of recording sheets can be used, and higher reliability can be contrived inexpensively.

    • PURPOSE:To enhance printing capacity by providing a confirming hole to one side of a cassette or reel having an ink ribbon wound therein and providing a detector detecting said confirming hole to the side of a carriage and making it possible to detect whether the present printing position is present in the upper half side or lower half side of the ink ribbon. CONSTITUTION:When an ink ribbon 12 is almost taken up by a take-up reel 19 by the advance of printing, a transparent reader tape part is sent out to the position of a ribbon detector 26 to turn the detector 26 ON and the supply of a current to a thermal head 10 is cut off and a carriage 7 is further shifted to move until a pinch roller 29 passes a final printing position and entirely releases the sticking of the ink ribbon 12 to printing paper 13 to stop. Then, a replacement indication lamp is allowed to light and indication is applied so as to turn over an ink ribbon cassette 16. Because the turned-over surface has no confirming hole 16a, a detection knob 25 is pushed down and a track detector 24 is turned OFF and the carriage 7 is returned to a final printing position to reopen printing.

CONSTITUTION:In a red-color recording: a carrier 22 is moved rightward in the recording direction; a heat portion 25a in a thermal head 25 is made to heat according to a recording information to heat a two-color ink ribbon 1, which results in the transfer of a second ink layer 3b to a recording paper 12; in this manner a red-color image is formed on the recording paper 12; and the ink ribbon 1 changes its direction by a take-up clutch immediately after being heated, thereby being separated from the recording paper 12. In a black-color recording: the carrier 22 is travelled rightward in the recording direction; the heat portion 25a in the thermal head 25 is made to heat according to a recording information to heat the two-color ink ribbon 1; thereafter the ink ribbon changes its direction by the take-up clutch at the position of a peeling roller on a peeling lever 58 apart from the heat portion 25a by the distance l to be separated from the recording paper 12; and in this manner, the first ink layer 3a is transferred to the recording paper 12 together with a second ink layer 3b.

    • PURPOSE:To enable images in colors according to color information to be recorded on a recording material through a small-type mechanism, by controlling a controlling member by a movement of a carrier which is moved according to the color information. CONSTITUTION:With an UP/DOWN motor M3 rotted clockwise, a thermal head 25 is turned in the direction of a platen 10 (direction of an arrow B1), and is pressed against the platen 10 through a recording paper 12 and a two-color ink ribbon 1. Concurrently, a connecting lever 30 is moved in the direction of the platen 10 (direction of an arrow C1) by a movement of a heat sink 26 in the direction of the arrow B1. A carrier 22 is moved in a rightward recording direction (direction of an arrow A1), and a heat generating part 25a of the thermal head 25 is operated to generate heat for heating the ink ribbon 1 according to recording information, whereby a second ink layer 3b is transferred onto the paper 12. Immediately after heating, the ink ribbon 1 is deflected from an end part 25b of the head 25 by a taking-up force generated by rotating by rotating a take-up clutch 41 in the direction of an arrow I1, whereby the ribbon 1 is released from the paper 12. Accordingly, clear images in colors according to color information can be recorded on a recording material through a small-type mechanism.
