    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase a communication capacity by using MIMO (multiple input multiple output) radio relaying system. SOLUTION: A transmission apparatus 10 transmits signals from a first antenna 11 1 and a second antenna 11 2 of which the polarization characteristics are made orthogonal to each other. A repeater 20 1 receives the signals by using a receiver antenna 21 1 which has the same polarization characteristic as the second antenna 11 2 , and transmits the signals by using a transmitter antenna 22 1 which has the same polarization characteristic as the first antenna 11 1 . A repeater 20 2 receives the signals by using a receiver antenna 21 2 which has the same polarization characteristic as the first antenna 11 1 , and transmits the signals by using a transmitter antenna 22 2 which has the same polarization characteristic as the second antenna 11 2 . A reception apparatus 30 receives the signals by using antennas 31 2 and 31 4 which have the same polarization characteristic as the first antenna 11 1 , receives the signals by using antennas 31 1 and 31 3 which have the same polarization characteristic as the second antenna 11 2 , and a MIMO equalization section 32 performs signal separation processing upon these received signals.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an error rate characteristic when there is a big difference between received power of signals from respective transmitters. SOLUTION: Received energy per information bit of a received signal from each transmitter is calculated (S2), and equalization and decoding processing is applied to the received signal from the receiver in the order of large received energy. That is, for example, only a received signal corresponding to a transmitter with large received energy in the previous prior information is used to perform equalization processing, and equalization and decoding processing is also applied to a received signal from a transmitter with small received energy according as the repetition of equalization and decoding is increased.
