    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a casting apparatus for producing a lattice substrate for a lead battery, which hardly causes casting defects.
      SOLUTION: The body of casting apparatus for the lattice substrate for the lead battery is composed of a stationary mold and a movable mold 1. A heating device 2 is attached on at least one of the stationary mold and the movable mold, and a cooling pipe 3 for passing cooling medium is installed at a higher position than a central part of the mold. The casting apparatus further includes an intercalated member 4, whose contact area with the mold is larger at the inflow side of the cooling medium than that at the outflow side of the cooling medium, between the mold and the heating device, and/or a channel 2a, which is arranged in the contact part of the heating device with the mold. By such a structure, temperature distribution in the entire mold is equalized to obtain the lattice substrate of high quality hardly causing casting defects such as a void and a breakage.
