摘要： A color-drift correcting method in an image forming apparatus includes a first and a second color-drift correcting. The first color-drift correcting includes correcting the color-drift amount in a sub scanning direction and a skew relative to the reference color image being based on each color-drift amount of at least three mark-patterns, each of which mark-pattern is formed of color images, so as to decide a corrected-image line as a virtual image line for each color, assumed when the color images are superposed onto a transfer media. A second color-drift correcting includes correcting the color-drift amount in the sub scanning direction so that the virtual image lines corresponding to each of the colors other than the reference color intersect with the virtual image line of the reference color at at least two points.

摘要： An image forming apparatus prints a first image data rendered at a first number of halftone levels based on a second image data rendered at a second number of halftone levels larger than the first number of halftone levels. A dot forming section (51, 451, 551, 651) forms lines of pixels on a print medium, the lines including a number of groups of sub lines of sub dots. The groups are aligned such that the sub lines of sub dots extend in traverse directions (X) substantially perpendicular to an advance direction. A controller (105) controls the dot forming section such that a selected number of sub dots in the advance direction (Y) are combined to form a pixel. Sub dots on the same sub line have the same exposure energy and sub dots on different sub lines in the same pixel have different exposure energies.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes a light source, a deflector, beam detectors, a clock generator, a measurement mechanism, a frequency corrector, and a phase corrector. The light source illuminates in response to image data. The deflector deflects an optical beam into a scanning beam. The beam detectors including first and second beam detectors detect the scanning beam. The clock generator generates writing clock signals. The measurement mechanism measures a count number of the writing clock signals generated during a period between the scanning beam is detected by the first and second beam detectors. The frequency corrector corrects a frequency of the writing clock signals such that the count number measured becomes substantially equivalent to a predetermined number. The phase corrector varies a phase of the writing clock signals such that the count number is substantially constant before and after the phase of the writing clock signals is varied.
