    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a sheet from being cut in a portion deviated from an ideal cut portion by stop of the ideal cut portion of the sheet near upstream of a cutting unit when a roll sheet is cut.SOLUTION: A paper feeder of the invention includes: a first motor for transporting a sheet; a cutter cutting the sheet; and a comprehensive control unit for controlling the first motor to feed the sheet by a larger distance when a designated sheet length is smaller than a threshold than when the designated sheet length is larger than the threshold in a case of stopping transporting the sheet near the cutter. This comprehensive control unit also, in a case where the sheet length is larger than the threshold, serves as a first mode to stop an ideal cut portion corresponding to the sheet length when a tip of the sheet is stopped and, in a case where the sheet length is smaller than the threshold, serves as a second mode to transport the ideal cut portion to the cutter during stop of the tip of the sheet.
