    • PURPOSE:To decrease the input/correction jobs of an operator when slips are produced by using a function which holds the deformed rule knowledge and applies this knowledge to produce the item data on the slips. CONSTITUTION:A slip interface 2 recognizes a deformed rule application item corresponding to an input item based on the relation among those items shown at a slip data memory part 5 and extracts the transformed rules out of a deformed rule knowledge memory part 4 for each item for production of character strings corresponding to each item. These produced character strings are stored in a slip data memory part 5. Thus the data can be automatically written into each item as long as the rule can be applied to it although a relevant character string is not exactly equal to that of the input item. Thus it is possible to decrease the input/correction jobs of an operator for the item data when slips are produced.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the availability of knowledges by estimating the inferring result from the information on a frame having a level equal to or lower than another via the statistical processing. CONSTITUTION:A system control part 2 receives input of instructions and inquiries of users and starts an inferring part 3 in response to the forms of these instructions and inquiries. The part 2 also delivers the information received from the part 3 as the inferring result. In case the inference fails in the direction of a higher position frame, the statics are taken for the slot values of plural frames having levels equal to or lower than said higher position frame. Then the attribute values of the frames having the higher level concepts or that of a frame having a level equal to said frames are estimated from the statistic value. Thus it is possible to estimate the attribute value of the high-grade abstract concept equivalent to a human thinking process and furthermore to utilize the statistic value to the inferring result. As a result, the knowledge is utilized to its maximum for acquisition of the effective information.

    • PURPOSE:To extremely reduce the load of a user when a hierarchical relationship between relations is set by setting automatically many other hierarchical relationships obtained logically by setting a single hierarchical relation. CONSTITUTION:A control device 6 controls each part of an inference device. An input device 1 is used when a user defines various hierarchical relationships between those frames stored in a frame type knowledge base 2. An inter-slot relationship control device 3 checks the adverse relationships out of the base 2 based on the information inputted from the device 1 and sets the necessary hierarchical relationships including said adverse ones. Thus the labor needed for the user to define the hierarchical relationship between adverse relationships can be omitted. An inference engine 4 performs inference by the deductive method based on the knowledge stored in the base 2 and outputs the result of this inference through an output device 5. In such a way, the load of the user can be extremely reduced when the hierarchical relationships are set.

    • PURPOSE:To change the colors and the line thickness in real time when a graphic is drawn on a display device by providing a rotary information input means to an input pen. CONSTITUTION:An input pen 1 contains a rotary information input device 2 of a doughnut shape consisting of a small ball 4 and the pressure-sensitive element 3 arrayed on the doughnut ring inside wall. When a pen case is rotated with a contact secured between the point of the pen 1 and an input face 7, the ball 4 moves to press the elements 3. Then the rotation information (a specific detected element 3) on the pen 1 is delivered by a circuit part via an output signal line 6. An electronic computer 9 transmits the rotation information obtained from the pen 1 through a signal converter 10 to convert it into the color information, the density information, the spread information, or the three dimensional coordinates, etc. These information are delivered to a display device 11 as necessary together with the coordinate information obtained from the face 7.
