CONSTITUTION:The title printing mechanism clamps a tip of image receiving paper 6 onto a surface of a platen 1 with a clamper 5, presses the image receiving paper 6 onto a rubber layer 1 provided on a platen base 11 of the platen 1 with metallic presser rollers 2 to 4 to rotate the platen 1, and performs printing on the image receiving paper 6 with a thermal head 9 via an ink sheet 8. In this case, a highly gliding layer 13 is formed on a surface of the rubber layer 12 on the platen base 11. This highly lubricative layer 13 is formed by such materials of Teflon or the like that frictional force between the layer 13 and the image receiving paper 6 will be less than frictional force between the thermal head 9 and the ink sheet 8. Besides, the presser rollers 2 to 4 are composed of a rubber roller of a highly frictional coefficient to raise the frictional force between the presser rollers 2 to 4 and the image receiving paper 6.

CONSTITUTION:The printing of a Y-color is carried out by the feed of printing receiving paper in a sub-scanning direction by the rotation of a platen roller 13 and the application of pulse-like voltage to a recording head 21. At this time, the movement of an ink sheet unit 1 is dominantly performed at a head pressing point in the same way as the printing receiving paper. When the printing of the Y-color is completed, the recording head 21 is opened to return the printing receiving paper 10 to the position detected by a reflection sensor 15 by the reversal of the platen roller 13. At the same time, the ink sheet unit 1 advances by the rotation of the second paper supply roller 20 and the display 8b of the magenta M of the next color is detected by a sensor 24 to be positioned and the printing of the colors of magenta, cyan C and black Bk is carried out. Since printing is applied to the printing receiving paper by the card type ink sheet unit, the mechanism in the apparatus can be simplified and the apparatus can be miniaturized.

CONSTITUTION:A heater part 5 consisting of a glaze layer 2, a resistor 3, and an electrode 4 and a protective film 6 are established on a substrate 1. Herein, inorganic particles 7 having thermal conductivity different from that of an abrasion resistant material being a constitutional material of the film itself are uniformly dispersed in the protective film 6. Though this dispersion state is uniform wholly over the layer, it may be uniform in layers to a resistor side, an outer surface side, or in a central part, etc., of the protective film. By such constitution of the protective film, when heat generated in the resistor is conducted in a protective film direction, thermal conduction is interrupted or accelerated with the particle 7 having different thermal conductivity dispersed in the film. Consequently, its most front surface ought to have irregular thermal distribution instead of uniform thermal distribution.

When the storage number (n) of the memory 14 arrives at the usable number (n0) of the sheet 1, it is returned.

In addition, a line-feed time for a paper when using the fusible ink is set to be different from that when using the sublimable ink. Accordingly, a printing operation including both transfer by use of the sublimable inks and transfer by use of the fusible ink can be performed by a single recorder and the same ink sheet.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce the space required for storing a cassette and to prevent foreign matter or dust from penetrating into the cassette during storage thereof, by providing a mechanism for expanding or contracting the spacing between a payout-side containing part and a take-up side containing part for a recording medium, and a mechanism for taking up a sagged part of the medium when the spacing is contracted. CONSTITUTION:When a take-up side containing casing 3 and a payout-side containing casing 4 are expanded from their state for storage, a slide plate 5 is slidden along a stepped groove 6A of a guide plate 6, and an engaging projected part 5A is engaged to an engaging part 6C. At this time, the part 6C is clamped by a fixed part 5B and the projected part 5A, and the casings 3, 4 are fixed at positions where the spacing between a rotary support shaft for the recording medium in the casing 3 and that in the casing 4 is set to a predetermined value. When the projected part 5A is pushed in as to contract the casing 3, 4 toward each other under pressure, a take-up arm 12 is driven by the tension of a rope 14, and a take-up member 13 takes up the sagged portion of the recording medium 2, whereby the casings 3, 4 are contacted into the state for storage. Accordingly, the space required for storing the cassette is reduced, and the medium 2 is covered by protective covers 3C, 3C to prevent adhesion of foreign matter or the like to the medium 2.
