摘要： PURPOSE:To execute uninterruptible switching by simultaneously changing the destination of ATM cell flows to other predetermined output interfaces and delaying the transfer of the ATN cell flow whose destination having been revised by means of a buffer after a specific period. CONSTITUTION:An output of an output buffer 86 of a standby system ATM switch 32 stops for a specific time only and outputs stored ATM cells to a selector 42. An output stop time is decided in advance so that a first ATM cell after switching sent through a standby transmission line 62 does not reach an ATM communication equipment earlier than a final ATM cell before switching sent through an active transmission line 61. When the number of cells stored in the buffer 86 is zero, it is informed a connection path control section 91 of the fact and input interfaces 21, 22 output ATM cells connected to a succeeding output interface 52 to an active system ATM switch 31 by a command of the control section 91. The ATM cell flow is outputted to the transmission line 62 via the switch 31 to make uninterruptible switching complete.

摘要： PURPOSE:To restore a loopback for a 1:n path on a double ring transmission line with a simple operation by setting a return standby path and a distribution standby path to a transmission line in an opposite direction to that of an active path transmission line so as not to be closed as a ring. CONSTITUTION:A reception node 4 at a down-most point of an active path 51 is set to be an outgoing node and an outgoing node 1 of the active path 51 is set as an incoming node in a return standby path 62 and the nodes are connected to a path connection section 63 by a distribution standby path 64. Then a path identification number is set to the same number as the active path 51. The distribution standby path 64 is branched at the nodes 3, 4 of the 1:n path from a transmission node 1 of the active path 51 till the uppermost node 2. The distribution standby path 64 is connected to the active path 51 by path connection sections 92-94 in the nodes 2-4. Then a different path identification number from that of a relevant return standby path 62 is allocated. Thus, the loopback is restored by having only to set reflection connection of a transmission line or a path against a fault of the transmission line.

摘要： PURPOSE:To use transmission code for another purpose by applying transmission line coding of a block form (mBnB) and taking a sufficiently long block length so as to eliminate the deterioration of margin due to delay difference. CONSTITUTION:Data is converted into a transmission line code of a block form in matching with a transmission line 4 through a transmission line code converter 3 in the block timing impressed from an input terminal 1 and the timings of the block are arranged and the result is sent to the line 4. As the form of the code, the block form (mBnB) is adopted to compensate the delay difference in the parallel transmission based on the phase of the block. It is required to increase m/n to a degree for the band effective use and to prolong the block length to a degree to compensate the delay difference (m/n>=2/3). For example, >=3-bit is used. Even if the transmission speed is increased, no deterioration of margin is caused, the utilizing efficiency of band is excellent and the delay compensation is attained by a simple circuit.

The monitoring device of the optical repeater detects input monitoring optical signal power Pw at the same time of converting an input monitoring optical signal multiplexed by a monitoring optical receiver 6 to an optical signal. The power Pd of a data optical signal obtained by branching a part of the outputted signal by a power splitter 7 is detected by a power monitor 9, and Pw and Pd are made output monitoring electric signals by a controller 10, made output monitoring light signal by a monitoring optical transmitter 11 and multiplexed to a data signal by an optical multiplexer/demultiplexer 5-2 to be outputted. Only a data optical signal is then inputted to an optical fiber amplifier.
