    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rice cooker provided with functions of cooking a cake and cooking with steam which fragrantly and uniformly bakes the whole surface of the cake without drying in cooking of the cake and which steams food material well without making it watery in a short time in cooking with steam.
      SOLUTION: The rice cooker is provided with: a bottom induction coil 3 for heating a pot 2; a lid 8 for covering an opening at the upper surface of the pot 2; a steaming device 15; and a steam heating device for heating the steam to a temperature equal to or higher than the boiling point of water. By controlling cooking in accordance with cake and steaming cooking processes, the rice cooker fragrantly and uniformly bakes the whole surface of the cake without drying in cake cooking and which steams the food material well without making it watery in a short time in cooking with steam.

      SOLUTION: The rice cooker is so constituted that the pot 2 is heated by a pot heating means 4 and the temperature in the pot 2 is sensed by a pot temperature sensing means 5, an amount of the rice in the pot 2 is judged by an amount of rice judgment means 6, the steam to be supplied to the rice in the pot 2 is generated by a steam generating means 9, the rice in the pot 2 is heated by a cover heating means 25 from a cover 3 which covers the upper surface aperture of the pot 2, wherein at least a part of the cover 3 is heated hot to 100°C or higher by the cover heating means 25, the steam which is generated by the steam generating means 9 is heated by a high-temperature section of 100°C or higher of the shutter 3, and the steam is heated to the boiling point of water or higher to be introduced into the pot 2.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure a stable rice cooking performance without an erroneous operation through the detection of correct temp. by providing control means for exclusively controlling each heating coil to be supplied with a current in order to prevent heating of a temp. detector. SOLUTION: A first heating coil 13 is arranged at a bottom of a coil base 11, and a second heating coil 14 is disposed at the outside thereof. A temp. detector 15 is placed at a center of the coil base 11. The coils 13, 14 are exclusively supplied with a current. When a current is made to flow in the coil 13, an alternating magnetic field is generated to heat a pan 12. Only a surface of the pan 12 facing the coil 13 is heated at this time, the convection to material to be cooked is in a specified direction. When the coil 13 is supplied with a current after the current supply to the coil 13 is stopped, only a surface of the pan 12 facing the coil 14 is heated, and accordingly the convection thereto is in a specified different direction thereto.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve overall convection and to drastically improve taste and cooking uniformity at the time of rice cooking in a large quality by providing a first heating coil heating the bottom surface part of a pot to be contained in a body so as to be freely attachable/detachable and the second heating coil heating the button side surface part of the pot so as to independently energize and control the respective heating coils. SOLUTION: Objects to be cooked such as rice and water, etc., are put into the pot 12, an electric rice cooker is operated and the first heating coil 13 is energized and, then, only a surface opposed to the first heating coil 13 is heated in the pot 12 and the convection as against the object to be cooked is executed in an a-direction. When energizing to the first heating coil 13 is stopped and the second heating coil 14 is energized, only the surface opposed to the second heating coil 14 is heated in the pot 12 so that the convection as against the object to be cooked is executed in the b-direction. The change- over is repeated by a prescribed cycle and executed till water in the object to be cooked is lost by absorption into rice or evaporation so that rice cooking is completed after a steaming process. Thus, the strong convection occurs and the vertical nonuniformity is drastically reduced in spite of means rice cooking.
