    • PURPOSE:To shorten an ink sheet to a reasonable length without wasteful consumption with a simple constitution by providing a rewinding means for a feed roll, which is engaged with an ink sheet feed roll, and rotates the ink sheet feed roll in the direction of winding up ink sheet in an interlocked action with the separation of a thermal head. CONSTITUTION:During an action to separate a thermal head 3 from a platen roller 4, a rewinding member is rotated in the direction (i) by action of a supply reel drive source 10, and a rewinding shaft and a rotor are rotated in the direction (i) at a constant torque through a slipping mechanism. In addition, a supply reel 5 engaged with the rotor is also rotated in the direction (i) to rewind ink sheet 2 onto an ink sheet feed roll 25. At that time, an ink sheet winding roll 26 is at a standstill, and the ink sheet 2 which is pulled down during the pressure contact action of the thermal head 3, is rewound onto the ink sheet feed roll 25 following the separation action of the thermal head 3. Thus a slack in the ink sheet 2 in the separated state of the thermal head 3 is eliminated, and the ink sheet 2 is shortened to a minimum possible length suited to recording.

    • PURPOSE:To enable a recording paper to be stably carried even if it is thermally deformed due to the heat accompanying recording, by a method wherein the recording paper is carried while being always bent at two points along the shape of a recording paper carry path. CONSTITUTION:After a thermal head 2 is brought into pressure contact with a platen roller 3 so that a recording paper 7 and an ink sheet 20 are held between them, a heating element 1 on the head 2 is heat-generated according to a recording signal for the first color. The recording paper 7 and the ink sheet 20 are carried in the direction of an arrow A and a recording is carried out. After completion of the recording, the recording paper 7 is again carried in the direction of an arrow B back to a recording start position and stopped. After completion of the preparation for a second-color recording, a recording action similar to that for the first-color recording is further performed for recording. At this time, the recording paper 7 is carried while being bent at two points, i.e. the platen roller 3 and a curved guide face 17 in the vicinity of the bond portion between a first recording paper carry path and a third recording paper carry path 10, thus being fed with correction of the curl of the recording paper 7, which has irregular deformation due to the first-color recording. The recording paper 7 is further subjected to a recording action similar to the above for a third-color recording, thereafter being discharged outside the recorder from an insert port 6.

    • PURPOSE:To greatly widen the temperature range in which intermediate gradations can be reproduced, by switching a table and the voltage of a head power source by an input-output characteristic converting means and a voltage-regulating means according to gradation data and an output from an A/D converting means. CONSTITUTION:Gradation level data inputted are read through a first port 6, and are stored. A digital value obtained by detecting the temperature in the vicinity of a thermal head by a temperature-detecting means 13 and digitizing the resultant temperature signal by an A/D converting means 14 is read through a second port 7, and is stored. An address in a voltage setting table (f) developed in a second RAM 5 is given according to the temperature level detected, thereby obtaining voltage data A for a head power source 15. The data A is outputted to a D/A converting means 16 through a fourth port 9, the voltage of the head power source is varied, and the varied voltage is applied to a thermal head 12. An address in a two-dimensional gammacorrection table f' developed in a second RAM 5 is given according to a gradation level and the temperature level, thereby obtaining pulse width data B, which is outputted to a pulse-generating means 10 through a third port 8. With this arrangement, it is possible to greatly widen the temperature range in which temperature correction can be achieved.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce labor and a time by automatically performing operation taken until the correction table is completed after the measurement of a density characteristic is fixed to a ROM and to stably obtain highly detailed data at each time when a correction data is formed, by automatically forming the correction data by each process using a computer. CONSTITUTION:A method for forming a density characteristic correction table is constituted of a measuring image recording process 1 for recording a density characteristic measuring image, a density measuring process 2 for measuring 9 kinds of recording densities, a density estimation process 3 for estimating 64 stages of densities, a table forming process 4 constituting an applying energy density table from the recording density to 64 stage of estimated applying pulse widths and a table backward subtracting circuit 5 performing the replacement of an address and data so that 32 stages of recording densities come to independent variables in a density table. The formation of correction data from each process is automated using a computer and a series of data processings taken until the correction table is completed after the density characteristic measuring process 2 is fixed to a ROM are automatically performed. Therefore, labor and a time are reduced and highly detailed data can be stably obtained at each time when correction data is formed.

    • PURPOSE:To make it possible to reduce color misregistration through enhancing the accuracy of feeding an image-receiving paper, by a construction wherein the pressing force of one of a pair off pinch rollers during recording is different from that at the time of feeding back the image-receiving paper. CONSTITUTION:Pinch roller support member 21, 22, a head support member 25 and tension coil springs 23, 24, 26 constitute pinch roller pressing means. As the head support member 25 is turned, the tensile forces of the coil springs 23, 26 are varied to vary the pressing force with which the pinch roller 15 is pressed against a platen roller 14. The tensile forces of the coil springs 23, 24, 26 are so set that the pressing force P1 of the pinch roller 15 when a thermal head 13 is pressed against the platen roller 14 is different from that when the head 13 is separated from the platen roller 14, whereas the pressing force P2 of the pinch roller 16, remains constant, whereby the amount by which an image- receiving paper 11 is fed forward during recording. As a result, favorable color images free of color misregistration can be obtained.

    • PURPOSE:To enhance accuracy of feeding and reduce misregistration of colors, by rotating a pinch roller on the downstream side at a circumferential velocity higher than that of a pinch roller on the upstream side which is rotated following up a platen roller, at the time of a feeding-back operation. CONSTITUTION:A pinch roller pulley 27 and a timing belt 28 constitute a pinch roller driving means for rotating a pinch roller 16 at a circumferential velocity higher than that of a pinch roller 15 rotated following up a platen roller 14. A clutch mechanism 29 transmits a driving force of the pinch roller pulley 27 for the pinch roller 16 only at the time of a feeding-back operation. An image-receiving paper 11 is fed back by a length by which it is fed forward during recording, without slipping relative to the platen roller 14 at the pressing position of the pinch roller 15, and it does not sag on the platen roller 14. Accordingly, the same position of the paper 11 as that located at the pressing position of heat generating elements 13a before recording can be located again at the pressing position of the elements 13a with high accuracy.

    • PURPOSE:To simplify a construction of the titled device, by constituting a feeding means for an image-receiving paper of only a platen roller and a pair of pinch rollers pressed against the platen roller. CONSTITUTION:An image-receiving paper 11 is held in close contact with a platen roller 14 between a pressing position of a pinch roller 15 on the platen roller 14 and a pressing position of a pinch roller 16 on the platen roller 14. A recording-starting position of a first color ink part of an ink sheet 12 is located at a position opposed to heat generating elements, and all of a thermal head 13, the ink sheet 12 and sheet guides 19, 20 are separate from the platen roller 14. At the time of starting recording, the thermal head 13 and the sheet guides 19, 20 are so moved that the heat generating elements are pressed against the platen roller 14 through the ink sheet 12 and the image-receiving paper 11. Next, the heat generating elements corresponding to image information for one line is operated to generate heat, thereby selectively heating a yellow ink and transferring the ink onto the image-receiving paper 11.
