    • PURPOSE: To obtain a chemical heat pump system which can amplify heat up to a particular high temperature by using a metallic hydride, as an occlusion alloy and accumulate a large amount of hydrogen energy without melting the hydride in the case where the metallic hydride is exposed at a high temperature. CONSTITUTION: Heat of 300 to 500 deg.C is thermally amplified at 1000 to 1200 deg.C, using heat of reaction wherein a specified metallic alloy reacts with hydrogen, and a metallic hydride capable of accumulating a large amount of hydrogen energy is used. As an example of this metallic hydride, a Ti-Cr alloy having Cr content of 0.2 to 15wt.% is suitable for hydrogenation reaction under high temperature. In each element in a pressure vessel for pyrogenetic or criogenic reaction comprising a chemical heat pump system, a heat-resistant alloy tube 1 as a heat-exchanging part is arranged at the central part thereof and a hydrogen occlusion alloy 2 is arranged around the tube 1. In addition, the periphery of the hydrogen occlusion alloy 2 is covered with a holder 3 formed of porous ceramics such as sintered metal, and for the purpose of increasing the heat efficiency of this element; furthermore, the periphery thereof is covered with heat-insulating material such as a microtherm.
