    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce crosstalks caused by reflection of transmitted light beams mixed into a receiving path.
      SOLUTION: An optical branching element is provided with an opening surface 11a which is made to face an optical fiber end face, a light-emitting element opposing surface 11b, a light-receiving element opposing surface 11c, a transmitter side reflecting surface 11d-2 which reflects transmitted light beams made incident from the light-emitting element opposing surface 11b to the opening surface 11a and a receiver side reflecting surface 11e-2 which reflects receiving light beams made incident from the opening surface 11a, to the receiving element facing the surface 11c. When a Z-axis is set to an optical fiber optical axis direction, an X-axis is set to the opposing direction, with respect to the surfaces 11b and 11c, and a Y-axis is defined as the direction orthogonal to the X-axis and the Y-axis, the transmitter side reflecting surface 11d-2 is set as a surface which is formed by rotating a plane parallel to the opening surface 11a about the Y-axis and by tilting around the X-axis. The receiver side reflecting surface 11e-2 is set as a surface which is formed by rotating a plane parallel to the opening surface 11a about the Y-axis along the opposite direction, with respect to the transmitter side reflecting surface 11d-2 and tilted. Thus, the main directions of the transmitting light beam reflection path and the receiving path in the vicinity of the opening surface 11a are separated by a large amount.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide optical components for two-way optical communications, that can decrease crosstalks and can be configured to a small size with high efficiency.
      SOLUTION: In the optical components, a lens 32 for condensing receiving light 21 emitted from the end face of an optical fiber 14 and making the light incident on a photodetector 15 is arranged, and a light guide plate 33 made greater in refractive index than that of the lens 32 is embedded and arranged in the opening surface of the lens 32. The plate 33 consists of an embedding section 33-1 and an extension section 33-2. Sending light 22 made incident on the plate 33 from an extension end face 33c of the extension section 33-2 is reflected by a reflection surface 33c and is made incident on the end face of the optical fiber. The transmitting light 22 is guided to the end face of the optical fiber without being leaked to the receiving side by the plate 33.
