摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sodium sulfur battery suitable for use in power storing apparatus, electric vehicles, etc., and capable of achieving both improvement of the battery efficiency and increase in the capacity. SOLUTION: A negative electrode chamber 4 containing liquid sodium is provided inside a solid electrolyte bag tube 1, and a positive electrode chamber 5 containing a positive electrode active material 14 composed of sulfur and/or sodium polysulfide is provided outside the solid electrolyte bag tube 1. A porous conductive material 12 or/and a porous material 13 is charged into a space between a collector 11 provided within the positive electrode chamber 5 and a side surface of the solid electrolyte bag tube 1, and the solid electrolyte bag tube 1 is laid in a horizontal or inclined direction. The collector 11 has a sectional structure that a projected portion 110 is provided at a part or the whole of a lower side of a side surface along the solid electrolyte bag tube 1, and the porous conductive material 12 or/and the porous material 13 are also charged within the projected portion 110. For such a sodium sulfur cell, an opening 7 is formed at the current collecting electrode 6, and a bent piece 6A of the current collecting electrode 6 is formed at the inner periphery of the opening 7, and corresponding to the opening 7, a concave part 5A is formed on the auxiliary electric material 5, and a bottom surface and one side surface of the concave part 5 are covered by the bent piece 6A, but the another side surface of the concave part 5A is not covered by the bent piece 6A and left in a state of being exposed as it stands.
