The material monomer for the ring-opening polymer of the base material A is a double-ring nolbornene monomer or a multi-ring nolbornene monomer having three or more rings. Moreover, the vinylidene resin used for the component of the coating film B is a copolymer of a polyvinylidene chloride and the other vinyl monomer as a co-monomer. The unsaturated nitrile resin of the film B is mainly composed of units of an unsaturated nitrile monomer, and is, for example, a copolymer copolymerized with a vinyl monomer. The coating film B is applied with using the vinylidene chloride resin and/or unsaturated nitrile resin as an organic solvent solution.

    • PURPOSE:To make the subject processed product superior in mechanical strength and cutting processability and eliminate almost foul odor peculiar to the product, by a method wherein the product is constituted of an outer circumferential layer formed of a high-molecular material and a core body layer obtained by performing ring opening polymerization of a reactive stock solution containing a norbornene monomer of at least tricyclic body. CONSTITUTION:The inside of an outer circumferential layer 1 is replaced, for example, with inactive gas such as N2 by making use of the hollow outer circumferential layer 1 comprised of a high-molecular material such as rubber material as a mold. After heating of the outer circumferential layer 1 at a fixed temperature, a reactive stock solution containing a norbornene monomer prepared beforehand is supplied within the outer circumferential layer 1 through a supply pipe 16 by opening a three way valve 12. To improve adhesion between the outer circumferential layer 1 and core body layer 2 an adhesive layer constituted of a curing type adhesive agent is formed on an inner circumferential surface of the outer circumferential layer 1. Since the outer circumferential layer 1 is covered with the outside of the core body layer 2 comprised of a ring opening polymer of the norbornance monomer, the same hardly smell a foul odor peculiar to a polymer. Although the polymer constituting the core body layer 2 is light in weight, the molded product is superior in mechanical strength and moreover cutting properties.

Further, on the surface opposite to the laminate interface between the heat generating body 72 and the base 71, fusion layer 74 made of thermoplastic polymer is formed integrally or in tight contact with the heat generating body. Furthermore, at the manufacturing of the composite formed body concerned, in the interior of a mold, in which the heat generating body 72 or the composite body of the body 72 and the fusion layer 74 is housed, reaction stock liquid containing norbornene-based monomer and metathetical catalyst is fed and hardened.

When the base plate 6 is heated at least restoring temperature (the temperature at which said plate is restored to original shape without applying external force, and normally it is rather higher than the temperature of thermal deformation), the base plate 6 is restored to almost H shape, and the plate member 2 is held by narrowing the holding space 10. Thus, fitting operation may be remarkably easily achieved.

    • PURPOSE:To make repairing of a molded product easy, by a method wherein a molded product of elastomer modified and crosslinked polynorbornane resin which is deformed through impact and possesses specific Izod impact strength value and a value of the coefficient of bending elasticity is heated at its restoration temperature or higher. CONSTITUTION:A molded product of elastomer modified and crosslinked polynorbornane resin, which is under a deformed state with impact from the outside and possesses specific values of Izod impact strength and the coefficient of bending elasticity which are respectively at least 20kg.cm/cm and 100kg/mm , is heated at a restoration temperature of the foregoing resin and the deformed molded product is repaired. Generally, the restoration temperature falls within a temperature range of at least the thermal deformation temperature and not exceeding the decomposition temperature and the temperature higher by at least 30 deg.C than the thermal deformation temperature is suitable. Heating time is generally from several seconds to scores of minutes, suitably 1-20 minutes.

    • PURPOSE:To provide sufficient lightness in weight and strength and to eliminate defects such as rust, weight and the like peculiar to a metallic material by forming a reinforcing layer of a resin layer formed by means of reaction injection molding. CONSTITUTION:The reinforcing layer 7 of a hermetically sealed canister 20 is made of a norbornen type resin formed by meansof a RIM method (reaction injection molding) in which a canister main body made of polyethylene is formed integrally with the canister main body. However, an upper surface is not covered by the reinforcing layer 7. In the case of the hermetically sealed canister 20, a reinforcing member is fixed on the reinforcing layer 7, by placing the reinforcing member from above and fixing it to a protection wall 8 integrally formed with the reinforcing layer 7 by bolts and nuts 6. On the upper surface, this reinforcing member is a reinforcing layer. Thus, the canister is light in its weight, provided with its strength sufficient for resisting impacts from the outside and the inside prossure and since no metallic material is used, contamination on the periphehry due to rust is eliminated.

    • PURPOSE:To confirm simply and accurately the molten state of a fusion welded layer by boring a blind hole starting from the surface of a base of an electrofusion joint through the fusion welded layer, bringing the end of a probe into contact with a bottom section of the blind hole and displace the probe following the melting of the bottom section of the blind hole. CONSTITUTION:A fusion welded layer 2 including a heat developing means is disposed on a base 1 of an electrofusion joint. For the purpose of confirming the molten state of the fusion welded layer 4, a blind hole 6 starting from the surface of the base 1 and reaching the fusion welded layer 2 is bored. A melt confirming sensor 20 is provided. A pawl 26 of the melt confirming sensor 20 comes off one of the tooth 25 and a probe 21 in the state that the probe 21 is protruded longest is inserted into the blind hole 6. When the fusion welded layer 2 is heat developed by the heat developing means, the bottom section of the blind hole 6 is softened and the end of the probe 21 is collapsed into the bottom of the blind hole 6 to displace the probe 21. To avoid the displacement, respective electric contacts 28a and 28b are opened and closed by a stopper 21a provided at the rear end of the probe 21. The molten state of the fusion welded layer 2 is confirmed simply and accurately by the arrangement.
