    • PURPOSE:To obtain a recording material having improved sliding characteristic and superior running durability by providing a layer contg. a metal salt of a long chain alkyl compd. to the rear surface of a substrate of an electrophotographic recording material provided with a photoconductive layer on its front surface. CONSTITUTION:A coating material is prepd. by mixing a metal salt of a long chain alkyl compd. expressed by the general formula (wherein M is a metal having 1-3 valency, pref. Ca, Ba, Pb; R is 12-21C alkyl; n is 1, 2 or 3), with synthetic polymer such as polyvinyl chloride resin, polyester resin, or natural polymer such as acetyl cellulose, as binder, contg.if necessary an antistatic agent, colorant, film characteristic improver, etc. The coating material is coated on an opposite side to a photoconductive layer formed on a substrate comprising polyester film, etc. to form a back coated layer. By this method, a long sized electrophotographic recording material having superior running durability and superior drivability causing no stripping off of picture image formed on the photoconductive layer and generating no scratch, etc. is provided.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain an electrophotographic sensitive body having sufficient flexibility, undergoing no reduction in the sensitivity, and causing hardly cracking in a liq. toner by forming a photoconductive layer contg. an org. photoconductor and a specified deriv. of benzoic acid on the surface of an electrically conductive support. CONSTITUTION:A photoconductive composition contg. a deriv. of benzoic acid represented by formula I [where R is 1-22C (substituted) straight chain or branched alkyl, the substituent is OH, halogen or the like, and Y is NO2 or OH] and a homo- or copolymer of vinylcarbazole or a unit represented by formula II(where Q is a substituent on the carbazole group such as aryl, NO2, NO2 or halogen) is prepd., and the composition is used in the formation of a photoconductive layer on an electrically conductive support. The resulting photoconductive layer has high film strength, and an electrophotographic sensitive body having sufficient flexibility and undergoing no reduction in the sensitivity is obtd.
