    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optimization method for an error diffusion coefficient capable of obtaining an excellent half-tone result for each input density region.
      SOLUTION: This image processing method performs error diffusion processing for image data, and forms an pseudo half-tone image. The method is provided with an error calculation process which binarizes a pixel value of multiple values of a pixel interpolated in the image data, and calculates an error value by this binarization; a selection process for selecting one out of a plurality of sets of coefficients for diffusing the error into other pixels based on the difference between the pixel value of the multiple values and the binarized pixel value; an error diffusion process for diffusing the error calculated in the error calculation process into the other pixel using the selected set of coefficients; and a feedback process for feeding the error diffused in the error diffusion process back for binarization with respect to the following pixel being interpolated.
