    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress fluctuation of frictional coefficient of incident to charges by compressing an ink absorber using a press member and inserting them simultaneously into a container having dimensions smaller than those of the absorber and withdrawing the press member from the container while holding it in the container thereby removing charges from the press member. SOLUTION: An absorber 1 is pressed to have dimensions smaller than the internal dimensions of an ink tank container 3 using two pairs of press member 4, 5 and, while keeping the compressed state, the absorber 1 is inserted into the ink tank container 3 along with the press members 4, 5. It is further compressed by a third press member 6 to have a dimension smaller than the internal depth dimension of the ink tank container 3 and, while keeping the pressed state, each press member 4, 5 is withdrawn and the third press member 6 is separated from the absorber 1. Although charges are generated through rubbing of the container 3 and the press members 4, 5 and they stand on the absorber or the press member, they cause no significant problem on the absorber and the container because the absorber is inserted only once.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance service efficiency regardless of the type of ink or ink absorber by controlling the distribution state of ink. SOLUTION: After a container 2 is decompressed by means of a vacuum pump 15, an on/off valve 13 is opened and ink is injected from an ink supply means 14. When a specified quantity of ink is injected, the ink is absorbed by an ink absorber 1 and stays in a buffer space 7. When the on/off valve 13 is closed and an opening 5 communicating with the atmosphere is opened, air in the ink absorber 1 expanded through pressure reduction is contracted, the ink in the buffer space 7 is sucked into the ink absorber 1, and the ink in the vicinity of the outer surface of the ink absorber 1 moves inward. A part of the ink absorber 1 touching a shield member 8 is shielded by a shield member 8 and, since the ink does not permeates that part, that part is not wetted with ink. The ink absorber 1 includes a region 11 which absorbed the ink sufficiently, a region 16 holding the ink slightly, and a region 12 unwetted with ink. Interface 9 of the ink is substantially horizontal and ensures a good distribution state of the ink.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To supply ink surely and stably from an ink supply opening even when the flow rate of ink is high by ensuring a large opening area of the ink supply opening when it is provided at such a part as the tank width cannot be ensured sufficiently. SOLUTION: A second negative pressure generating member 1 is contained in a substantially rectangular parallelepiped ink containing section 2 and disposed between a first negative pressure generating member 3 and a plane forming an ink supply opening 4. The rectangular parallelepiped second negative pressure generating member 1 has a width equal to the width between the inner wall faces becoming the maximum area plane of the ink containing section 2. The rectangular parallelepiped second negative pressure generating member 1 is surrounded by a guide 5 comprising the two opposite inner wall faces becoming the maximum area plane of the ink containing section 2, and two opposite and parallel inner wall faces provided substantially perpendicularly to the ink supply opening plane while intersecting the two opposite inner wall faces.
