      SOLUTION: The particles for a display medium, the particles constituting a display medium of an information display panel that displays information by applying an electric field to move the display medium sealed between substrates 1, 2, comprise polymer particles which are approximately spherical, obtained by a wet method and which contain a binder resin, an additive and a colorant. A part of or the whole monomers as a source material of the binder resin are crosslinking monomers. The additive comprises a copolymer of an acrylic resin and a hydrocarbon resin or a copolymer of acrylic resin and an acrylic resin having a hydrocarbon or a fluorinated hydrocarbon in a side chain. The polymer particle has a minute concavo-convex pattern uniformly distributed on the surface. The particles for a display medium show a heating loss of 1 wt.% or less by heating at 120°C for 4 hours. By using the above particles, an information display panel exhibiting desired display quality is obtained.
