The additive comprises a copolymer of an acrylic resin and a hydrocarbon resin or a copolymer of acrylic resin and an acrylic resin having a hydrocarbon or a fluorinated hydrocarbon in a side chain. The polymer particle has a minute concavo-convex pattern uniformly distributed on the surface. The particles for a display medium show a heating loss of 1 wt.% or less by heating at 120°C for 4 hours. By using the above particles, an information display panel exhibiting desired display quality is obtained.
