    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a parking assistance device enabling a crew to easily set a backward move start position when parking.
      SOLUTION: A forward scene of a vehicle 1 is photographed, and the photographed image is displayed on a display unit. At a predetermined stop position S1, a parking target position S4 of the vehicle 1 is set, based on the photographed image. From the stop position S1, there calculated is a backward move guide path C2 from a backward move start position S2, positioned in front of the vehicle 1 to start backward move of the vehicle 1 for parking, to the parking target position S4. According to an instruction by the crew of the vehicle 1, the backward move start position S2 is set in a predetermined set range, based on the photographed image. An advance guide path C1 from the stop position S1 to the backward move start position S2 is calculated, and a moving state of the vehicle 1 is detected. Based on the advance guide path C1 and the moving state, the vehicle 1 is guided from the stop position S1 to the backward move start position S2.
