    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery with little damage on a negative electrode film which is suitable as a negative electrode for a lithium ion secondary battery with high capacity maintenance rate and to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The negative electrode for the non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery includes negative electrode material containing 0.2 to 30 wt.% of a fibrous polymeric substance to a negative electrode active substance containing silicon which can store/discharge lithium ion. The particle size distribution of the negative electrode substance containing silicon has D 50 within a range of 0.1 to 30 μm when particle diameter corresponding to accumulated 50 wt.% from the microparticle side according to a laser diffraction dispersion method particle size measuring method is D 50 and fiber length in the fibrous polymeric substance has particle diameter of D 50 or more in the negative electrode active substance containing silicon.
