    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a logging device safe and excellent in working efficiency.
      SOLUTION: The logging device 10 sequentially cuts off standing trees each into a prescribed length near the foot thereof. The logging device 10 is provided with base plates 1a, 1b for transversally surrounding the foot of the tree, and supports 2a-2d rising from both wings of each of the base plates 1a, 1b. The logging device 10 is provided with primary upper plates 3a, 3b supported by the top end parts of the supports 2a-2d, and intermediate plates 4a, 4b supported by the intermediate parts of the supports 2a-2d. The base plates 1a, 1b have primary pressing plates 1c, 1d for fixing the foot of the tree, the primary upper plates 3a, 3b have a pair of primary braking means for reducing dropping speed due to self weight of the tree, and the intermediate plates 4a, 4b have secondary pressing plates 4c, 4d for making the tree detachably go forward or backward. The tree is cut off between the base plates 1a, 1b and the intermediate plates 4a, 4b.
