    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst decomposition type thruster for a space vehicle, for actualizing high safety and easy assembly even when using HAN (Hydroxylammonium Nitrate) based liquid propellant for one liquid propulsion system. SOLUTION: The catalyst decomposition type thruster for the space vehicle includes a hollow tank for storing the liquid propellant, a combustor for decomposing the liquid propellant and injecting reactive gas, and a propellant valve for controlling the supply of the liquid propellant from the tank to the combustor. The combustor includes a catalyst layer having a catalyst to be used for decomposing the liquid propellant, a heating device for heating the catalyst layer, and an injector for supplying the liquid propellant to the catalyst layer. Between the injector and the propellant valve, a heat insulating member is provided which has a flow path for the liquid propellant from the propellant valve to the combustor.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a one-component thruster which can be easily manufactured and is advantageous for the reliability and cost, can prevent the catalyst particles from being collapsed or abraded locally or wholly in the catalyst layer, resulting in allowing the control of trouble occurrence such as efficiency degradation of hydrazine degradation reaction or decrease of thrust, and is excellent in durability, and to provide a method of operation thereof.
      SOLUTION: A chamber 5 including an injector 3, and being filled with a catalyst layer 4 decomposing hydrazine introduced through this injector 3 to generate the decomposed gas, a nozzle 6 to obtain thrust by ejecting the decomposed gas generated in this chamber 5 are included, and a gas circulating mechanism 10 for storing one part of the decomposed gas generated in the chamber 5, and injecting this stored decomposed gas to the portion located near the injector 3 of the catalyst layer 4 in the chamber 5 is also included.
