    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sickle lock capable of avoiding any possibility of collision with a strike plate due to an imprudent rotation of a sickle in a locking direction during automatic locking. SOLUTION: A sickle lock for a sliding door comprises a trigger which moves back and is displaced by being pushed to a door frame side when a sliding door is being closed; a power transmission means operated by a retreating force of the trigger; and a sickle which is interlocked with the power transmission means in an automatically rotatable manner in a locking direction. When closing the sliding door by linking a trigger linking piece 8 with its base end portion supported by a shaft at an internal end portion of a trigger 7, a linking end portion 8a of a trigger linking piece 8 is linked to a linked portion 6a of the sickle 6 located in a lock box in the first stage at the moment when at least a tip surface 7a of the trigger hits the side of the door frame; and in the second stage in which the trigger retreats, the linking end portion 8a of the trigger linking piece 8 cooperating with the trigger moves apart from the linked portion 6a of the sickle 6. SOLUTION: The shaft of a sickle 3 is inserted to a case 1 from the back side, it is connected to the shaft of a handle 2, and hence the sickle is rotated, interlocked with rotation of the handle 2. Next the case 1 is fitted to a facing piece 91 on the indoor side of the door edge frame 9 of a sliding door 8 by screws or the like, in the condition of directing the shaft of the handle 2 and the sickle 3 in the depth direction, the sickle 3 is projected from a depth piece 92 nearby a vertical frame 10 to the vertical frame 10 side at locking, it is engaged with a sash fastener receiver fixed to the vertical frame 10, and at unlocking the sickle 3 drawn from the depth piece 92 to the inside of the door edge frame 9. Hereby, by operating the handle 2, the sickle 3 can go in and out, and hence the locking/unlocking operation of the sliding door 8 can be made possible on the door edge frame 9 side.
